Shout out to Athlon for not making me view a fricking slideshow.

First thing I noticed is not one person on that panel was listed as being a former player. I guess it's possible that some of them played football at some point, but you would think and respectable list would include in there panel a few former players.

It's not really a true "top 50 college players" list when there's a bunch of guys on there that wouldn't be if they weren't NFL Hall of Famer. I know he tore it up at Miss Valley St, but would Jerry Rice really be a top 50 all-time had he not had a Hall of Fame NFL career?

RUN DMC should be on this list.

Reggie bush is the best college football player I've ever seen in my 27 years. Cam newton should probably be a little higher even though he only had one year
And no honey badger???

List is trash without
Rocket Ismail
Pat Fitzgerald
Michael Crabtree
Peter Warrick
Luke Kuechly
Ron Simmons
Jack Ham
or Chris Zorich
Take out NFL HOFers who were clearly much better pros than college players like LT, Lott, Elway, Singletary, Bruce Smith and even Peyton Manning. Also QBs overrated due to their supporting cast like Wuerfful and Leinart.

I agree with this.

I don't know if I agree with all the names, but only because I disagree with Manning, he was great at Tennessee, and I really have no recollection of the others college careers.

And here, I think you are letting their NFL performances affect your opinion. Systems and teams are what they are and part and parcel of the evaluation. Both guys were fantastic in college as players. Wuerfful, in particular, was the epitome of the great in college but sucks as a pro QB. Just my opinion of course.

Not seeing Ron Dayne is a bit puzzling.

This list way overvalues the 60s and 70s
Athletes today > Athletes in all of history

Matt Leinart, seven spots ahead of Peyton Manning?
Nope... this alone disqualifies the list.
