I mean 9 out of 10 times he would have been correct. Great call by the Chiefs. It’s up there with the Dolphins/Marino fake spike.

Because his shtick was new.

So people were like "wow, he knows stuff!"

But know-it-alls get old in announcing Madden found that out when he first started, he was way too technical and then he had to dumb it down his last 20 years.

I like Cris. He's one of the best in the biz but I can see where people don't care for him b/c he is dry.

I don’t think this is the case.

Someone said years ago, since Tony was in the booth right after being on the field he could call the correct play often. But watch as years go by and football evolves and see if he is still accurate.

Might be some truth to that.

Agree with Collinswortth. He is the best to ever do it for my money. The way he breaks down a play in real-time is unmatched.

Play finishes and immediately they go to replay and picks apart the play. The safety cheating or the QB looking off or guard slow off the ball. It’s amazing. No one else does it that well

I like his emotion but he did have a bad sequence there at the end thinking it was a first down then thinking there was no play on.

It’s fine to be wrong but when you speak so emphatically it highlights your misses

Yeah never understood why neckbeards sucked this dude off so much. All because he got 3 out of 10 calls right... no wonder the cowboys were a laughingstock in his era.

I don’t dislike him, but he’s a complete goofball in the booth.

I was incredulous when he was going over his “keys for the game” for each team and Cleveland’s was the Oline something something, and a Cleveland OLmen was down on the ground, but he kept rambling on about his keys for the game, never acknowledging the guy.

Talks too much. Great insight, but he gets paid by the word.

He's good. But, Good Lord Tony, give it a rest sometimes. He must think he's getting paid by the word.
