The only reason people give a shite about the NCAA tournament is because of those teams. Nobody watches the 11am game that's tight to the wire when it's Michigan State vs Stanford. But they sure do when it's Michigan State vs Murray State.

exactly. the conference tourneys dont draw near the numbers the ncaa tourney does for this reason. NC state just pulled off a major upset run, but it didn't have the same hype to it because they are still a major program.

None of these bubble teams ever win the whole thing, so what is his logic of needing more bubble teams from big conferences?

He can f’ng piss off. SLU beats him if they didn’t lose a timeout on a bogus call in 2012.

that's entirely false. i kinda have a "my team" from other conferences when it comes to march madness basketball (Baylor, UNC, Michigan, Arizona State, Gonzaga, etc.) that i'm generally pulling for every year even if my actual team isn't in it.

If Farleigh Dickinson knocks off #1 UNC, I'm all for it. don't want it for my guys, but love the chaos.

Michigan State went 10-10 in its league. If you can't finish above .500 in your league, you shouldn't be eligible for an at-large bid. I'm Team More Deserving over Team Best.

If you can't prove you're one of the best in your league, why should you get a chance to prove you're one of the best in the country? We saw Virginia, a run-of-the-mill ACC team get in and look like shite last night. A mid-major team would have been more interesting to watch.

Basketball is the sport where mid majors actually have a realistic shot at making a deep run in the postseason. We don’t need to take away those auto bids to reward a few more big conference teams that only went .500 in conference play

They want to ruin everything good about college sports. It's despicable, and unfortunately, inevitable.

Get rid of conference tournaments so undeserving teams don't sneak in.

The auto bid should be for the regular season winner not the stupid conference tournaments

The mid to low majors is what makes March Madness Great.

What a bum. His team had no business in this tournament this year anyway. Of course, they gave him a 9 seed so he avoided the bubble comparisons, which Mich State would score unfavorably.

Imagine someone from the old guard saying something like that, and actually listening to that nonsense. Knowing the NCAA and the dogshit organization we all know they are, it will probably happen within a couple years.

compared to how miserable he was 30 years ago it's amazing he was able to get worse - but he has -

he's still arse-chapped at 15 seed CUSA tourney champion Middle Tennessee knocking his #2 ranked (29-5) big10 champion and 2 seed team out - in the Round of 64 in 2016

he can say that shite about mid-major conference teams this year because he's not playing one to begin the NCAAT tomorrow -
