Yup!!! He did the exact same thing this year when Ohio State fired Christ Holtmann...trash talked Ohio State for firing Holtmann and being disloyal (after 7 years of noothing) and then a week later new Head Coach Jake Diebler walked into the Breslin Center and walked away with a WIN!!! Ohio State should 100% be in the NCAA tourny over MSU.

I keep coming back to this thread b/c I am just completely flabbergasted that someone could be far enough out of touch to think this would make the tournament better.

Everyone I know wants MORE small/mid major schools. We already know the 8th place team in the big whatever is not the best team out there.

They have a better chance to make runs in the tournament than teams who don’t recruit and don’t play anybody at that level

Coach Izzo has mostly spoken up for fired coaches during his career. His defense of Holtmann and Lickliter and other fired coaches is not new. In fact you will find most successful coaches defending coaches when they get fired and in the they say nothing at all when a coach they don't like gets fired. Hell he even defended Tommy Amaker.

Tom Izzo hates Oakland. Oakland is probably the best college team in Michigan this year.
