Right? People have been saying that since 2001.

His throwing style is a perfect fit for today's rules
10 years is a ridiculous number but I could see him playing at 43-45 if he doesn't have any major health issues (which is likely given how quickly he's getting rid of the ball)
Manning would've been the same way if it he didn't have the neck surgery to zap his ability

Not likely but possible. It's not only the years but the injuries and recuperation time that will be the career killer. Brady has been fortunate without sustaining many serious ones and if he can keep dodging the bullets he can play a lot longer. As he ages though he will become more injury prone.

Brady is a punk and a fraud.
I would loved to have seen him play back in the '60s and '70s, when real football was played.

Back in the good ole days when real QBs wore pants hose and fur coats

I'm only aware of Joe Namath dressing like that. I think what the other poster means is when Qbs weren't as protected as they are today.
Being older myself, I prefer the older style of football, because to me, the rules have ruined the game. I hate the rule where the QB can throw the ball away if he's outside of the pocket. I understand the powers that be want to make the game safer, but I can't stand that rule.
Pass interference rules have changed for the worse as well as offensive lineman being able to extend their arms and use their hands. I also don't like the way a ball carrier can run out of bounds outside of the goal line yet reach the ball over the pylon and be awarded a touchdown.
Of course this is just my opinion. I would think that the younger people who watch todays football are perfectly okay with the current rules.

3-5 depending on the amount of hits he takes(which is usually low). Using his quick release and decision making is what saves him from sitting in the pocket way too long.

Seeing as how they're not letting QBs get hit much these days, he can play for several more years.

Yea, Tom Brady who is 38 has a solid 10 years left in him, while Drew Brees who is 36 has been finished since last year and should retire now because he's too old...

Different type of players
Brees is shorter and has a weaker arm and has better feet to make up for his short comings
Brady has limited mobility but makes good use of great pocket awareness by stepping up in the pocket to avoid the rush. His style of play will allow him to play longer than Brees IMO

You seriously think Brady has more pocket awareness than Drew Brees?

Brady is an interesting study. He's actually becoming more mobile as he grows older. He went from a statue to someone that can actually run out of the pocket a little bit.
I don't think he can play 10 years, and I think 5 years is optimistic. The Patriots will move on if/when they think he is unable to win a SB with a great supporting cast.

Maybe his lack of athleticism is actually paying off.
*Side note Brady always look so goofy when he tries to make a play with his legs.![]()
Might just be me, but both of those gifs are pretty damn impressive plays for a QB and doesn't show a lack of athleticism nor does he look goofy in either of them

I know right, he makes a 1 on 3 tackle of a CB which saves a TD and that's supposed to be "unathletic" and "goofy"?
Posted on 10/22/15 at 8:45 am to SirWinston
And directly takes on a CB instead of stepping out of bounds or sliding

The best part of that run was he stood up and starting shouting like a mad man powering up, and the media assumed he was being a jerk. They then asked the player what he said during trash talking, and the guy said "He just went WOOOOOOOOOOOOH".

I'm 47 and I remember hearing turning 50 is a game changer. You start going to shite pretty much the day you hit 45. Aches, pains and fatigue start hitting you harder. Eyes going to shite. It gets here faster than you think and I would think for a professional athlete playing at that level things tend to taper off pretty quickly at a point. I think Favre would shatter if he was still trying to play today and took a good hit.

he will play until he has all the records. That way Peyton will have nothing.

The system he is in I beleive it.

He looks a lot more athletic than Brees and Manning right now whose age is starting to show
