Don’t think for a second Morey doesn’t realize this. Hefty price to pay giving up a first for Shumpert but I don’t blame Houston with the CP3 window looking like it’s not going to last more than a couple of seasons more.

Sources say Davis, meanwhile, remains adamant that he will not sign a long-term deal with Boston if the Celtics trade for him in July and that he would like to play out the rest of the season for the Pelicans if there's no trade by tomorrow's deadline

Yeah, I think they have a good shot now especially with the Clippers dealing Tobias.
Excellent for the Mavs because now we got some serious cap room this offseason compared to next. If we can deal Courtney Lee in the offseason we're in damn good shape.
Plus, I've always loved Zach Randolph since the late Jail Blazers days
Barnes was likely taking his $25 mil player option next season, so we take the expiring deal of Randolph to create serious cap room in the offseason

so freaking awkward to get traded mid-game
like how does a GM not inform someone "hey we're hatching out a deal that may involve this guy... I don't think he should play tonight"
now you got video of him sitting on the bench as the world (and more importantly his current team's fans) finds out he no longer plays for the team whose uniform he's currently wearing
I now want that video of someone running up to him on the bench and telling him and him running into the locker room not to return to the bench

Cuban was on The Ticket the other day and said the Porzingis trade went down in about an hour.
I think after the Kings made the Shumpert move, it cleared the way for them to make the move for Barnes, so you just get the deal done right then before Barnes pulls up with an injury.
It's just unfortunate timing, but that's the way of business
