That’s not at all how it works. Refusal to test is a crime in and of itself, which is because without said test it’s very hard to get a DUI conviction.

it’s going to be the officers word that he “seemed impaired” which is not nearly enough to convict.

There's also the wreck that points at his impairment, and his driving prior to that moment.

Very likely he pleads to reckless operation and failure to submit to a test.

He already had 1 pled down to reckless. You don't get 2 bites of that apple. It's exactly why florida treats those plea down recklesses as DUI convictions when you have a 2nd DUI.

For normal people, we are talking about a guy with hundreds of millions of dollars. He is going to have the absolute best lawyers and because of who he is get preferential treatment.

You would think Tiger would just have a driver on call

Billionaire John Goodman got 16 years for dui manslaughter, in palm beach county. They actually got convictions on him at both trials.

Which is shocking and shockingly rare.

quote:

He was driving his car near the polo club he founded, when he disregarded a stop sign and collided with a car driven by Scott Patrick Wilson, 23. Goodman left the scene of the accident without calling emergency services. Wilson's car ended up overturned in a canal and he drowned. Goodman broke his wrist. Goodman hired well-known criminal defense attorney, Roy Black, best known for high-profile trials involving William Kennedy Smith and Rush Limbaugh.

Goodman was granted a new trial in May 2013 due to juror misconduct. At retrial, Goodman was again convicted of DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide and on November 21, 2014, he was again sentenced to 16 years in prison. Prison credit was denied for 810 days spent on house arrest pending the second trial. He was also denied bail pending his second appeal.

In 2017, the Florida District Courts of Appeal affirmed his conviction Goodman is incarcerated by the Florida Department of Corrections, with a 2028 release date. He continues to file appeals.

Reading the synopsis, sounds like he was just a guy who inherited a lot of money that nobody liked.

Not really applicable to the fame and adoration and lifetime fawning over of Tiger.

I don’t think anyone is arguing against that. If you follow Tiger or golf, you know this goes back at least 10 years. He’s an addict.

Which doesn't happen with pain pills.

He is probably running on some sort of cocktail of pain meds, HGH/roids and stimulants such as adderall.

You know at Tiger’s age, for him to have 4 DUIs, he must actually be a pretty damn good intoxicated driver. He’s probably done this hundreds or even thousands of times and those 4 times were just the ones he was actually caught.

It will be interesting to see if Martin County goes to the mattresses on this and takes it to trial instead of pleading it out to a BS traffic charge. Twenty years ago, Eldrick would have been fricked. Martin County was a rural cow county very strict on crime. But, they've had 20-30 years of development with a large influx of NYers and other northerners. We'll see.
