Your definitions of skilled and talented must differ greatly from mine. Sergio is a fricking joke.

Not talking about Sergio now. I'm talking about Sergio ten years ago. He was a very talented and skilled young golfer. He came to the PGA with a great record and reputation. He was the youngest player to ever win a PGA tour event after Tiger Woods. His amateur record and achievements were on par with Woods.

He went nuts, had a nervous breakdown and has never been the same since. He changed his swing when he was 22. He went through the waggle phase. He just lost his grip on the game mentally.

He had all the physical tools to compete with Tiger and from a pure physical standpoint, was probably as talented. He just couldn't handle the mental game.

To be fair Duval has had some pretty bad back trouble, but yeah he is also a head case.

Sergio is so mentally fragile that it's comical in the context of professional golf. It was great karma seeing him hit 2 in the water on 17. He's a Euro crybaby at the ryder cup and I'm glad he chokes in big spots on tour.

Around the time Tiger hurt his knee and was off tour, it looked like Sergio was finally going to break through and start winning majors. But then Padraig Harrington made him quit.

Speaking of which, what happened to Harrington? He won three majors in two years, but then decided to make a swing change. Looked like he was going to be a star longterm as well.

Then his interests went elsewhere.

Sergio should shut the frick up and try playing golf. I know he doesn't like tiger but if he keeps running his mouth he's going to lose everyones respect, if he hasn't already. I guess it's the cool thing the rag tiger lately with the drop at the masters, the incident yesterday, an espn article said they even bitched about his drop today on 14.

Everyone agrees there is no way that anything the gallery or tiger did affected his shot and he's STILL bitching even after the end of the tournament.

Sergio has unseeded Ian poulter as the biggest douche nugget on tour in my book.

With the crowd around tiger, there was no way Sergio saw him pull that club and they showed the replay. The gallery didnt make a sound until after his swing.

quote:

Replays showed the noise occurred while Garcia was standing over his ball, not in his backswing. And Woods was surrounded by spectators and could not see Garcia; it is also unlikely he would expect cheering simply because he took a club out of his bag.

Ok..it was before his swing. Still.

Sergio was too busy railing lines with Martina Hingis.

Sergio needs more than a mental coach. He actually needs a porn coach. Porn stars even learn how to not choke after a year at the absolute most. It looks to me like he he is hopeless.... And a whiner...... Oh and a bitch too

I love how people keep talking shite about Sergio. The guy is likely more successful than every person in this thread.

But yeah, he's a joke.

sergio went for the pin on 17, trying to win the tournament. He put a good swing on it, but I guess he misjudged the wind, and like most other players including tiger, came up shorter than expected. If tiger had gone for the pin instead of bailing left, he would have been in the water as well. Anything that happened after the first shot was immaterial since he was out of the tournament. I think people are blowing this out of proportion, his biggest mistake was getting too aggressive, he didn't miss a shot due to nerves, he hit the shot he wanted to IMO.

False

I think he did...He seemed pretty stunned when it came up short...and these guys KNOW when they make contact what should happen...The second one was an unlucky bounce...Kept the same club and hit it the third time...

Tiger is a smug jerk. His skill and work ethic are to be admired I guess but as a human being he is not too well regarded.
