MixzouBuckeye is just a crabby USC fan.

Texas was fantastic on that drive. You know the old saying why defensive players play defense? Cuz they can’t catch. The Rams (NFL) has NFL defenders drop some of Brees passes. Vince Young was clutch.

shite, if Oregon “played through the whistle” maybe Cam Newton doesn’t win a natty?

They showed the play tonight. Some Chinese dude just slaps it down. It should have ended the game.

When was it in the game? I just looked for it on the last drive and couldn't find it, but I do remember something like that happening.

USC vs UT natty is replaying on Longhorn Network

Surprised they had time to fit in with all the other programming options.

Second to last drive iirc. Vy scrambled around and threw a floater across the field. One of the worthless ting brothers just bats it down. I thought he could have picked it off as well.

Everyone remembers how awesome that game was- and rightfully so- but completely forget the Texas-Ohio State game to open the year. That game was incredible.

Well I guess selective memory goes both ways.

Everyone seems to think Texas last drive was awesome.

Young threw a dumbass pass that should have been intercepted but was just batted down instead by the USC defender.

And once again the game could have been ended by a bad USC defense on a 4th down at the very end.

The stats for the game are almost exactly the same with USC having 20 more yards of offense and 1 more turnover.

That was the difference in the game.

But selective memory is that Texas and VY were just too awesome. Which is the exact opposite of how the game played out.
Jesus fricking Christ.

Yep, great game. OSU probably wins if Smith plays the whole game.

Dude, rewatch the game.

There's this mythology that Vince Young was Superman and USC had no chance.

USC had more yards, etc.

But they had 1 more costly turnover and a lot of bad coaching decisions and missed opportunities.

And Vince Young almost threw away the game on that final drive that nobody seems to remember.

Texas didn't dominate USC - they had basically equal stats and USC had the extra turnover and some stupid play calls and that was the difference. If USC had stopped VY on 4th and 5 or had gained a 1st down on 4th and 2 everyone would say...dominate victory USC...but Texas wins and its remembered as some VY was unstoppable...Texas scored about half their season average against a mediocre defense.

The team he was unstoppable against was the year earlier, Michigan.

It was 1st down, and the result should have been 1st and 10 Texas from USC's 10 yardline. It's very likely Texas scores on that drive anyways.

Still would have burned game clock putting pressure on UT late in the game.

Hindsight is always 20/20 though.

I don't think anyone has ever thought that looking back.

It was nuts rewatching it and seeing VY run the ball. It honestly looked like he was jogging, but he'd be flying by defenders. I was like 13-years-old the first time I saw the game and I took for granted just how incredible of an athlete he was.
