Houston-Philly rematch was the dream scenario. Instead we got the consistently underperforming rich kid (Texas Rangers) and the scruffy underdog (Arizona).
Melt.

Dbacks vs Dbags, who would have guessed nobody gave a shite?

So I actually enjoyed baseball more this year and thought the changes with the bases, pitch clock, limited times you could step off the mound, and number of people you had to pitch to really helped the game.
The MLB just got unlucky that two of the least popular teams made the World Series from a ratings perspective, and on top of that, because the teams weren’t expected to do much before the season they weren’t on TV a ton.
I completely agree with what a few people have said about promoting players and the MLB’s failure to do so. What Ohtani has been doing is incredible and should be praised accordingly, but I feel like the players/teams that have been getting promoted and pumped up haven’t been performing in the postseason.

Here's a possibility a bunch of people overlook...maybe it was the least watched ever because it was aired 100% on Fox, which is no longer on Dish or DirectTV due to contract issues...

Would have been nice...with a national fan base like Boston, New York,
Yeah, the country doesn't get enough of them.
What are all those bandwagon ball cap wearing girls going to do, so passionate about the only two teams they can name.
We need to go back to the 2000s and put them on every ESPN game of the week and fix the playoffs to ensure these BoSox and Yankee girls "popular national fanbase" gives the Networks ratings...because that's what its all about...likes and clicks, and shares and ratings and commercials, that's what the fan cares about.

World Series is being played too late into the Fall. It is competing directly with the meat of football season. Either shorten the season or reduce the Divisional series to 5 games and eliminate the wildcard games

Only some places. I get Fox in Houston on DirectTv.

The season has ended around the beginning of November for the past 25-30 years. It just didn't start happening this year. Some of the games will conflict with football no matter what. Shortening the season won't change that. And shortening the season only reduces revenue. No business that wants to succeed is ever doing that. People who didn't care before aren't going to suddenly care if the playoffs end 2 weeks earlier. Those who really give a shite about the game will figure out a way to watch.

And ratings over the past 20 years have been declining.

And shortening the season with reduced revenue still won't stop that from happening.

The best teams were eliminated. Two barely popular teams played.
This is the answer. You should have stopped here. The rest of that paragraph is hogwash.

Happy for the Rangers fans on here, but it was the worst WS of my life - could not care less.
You're just mad because you couldn't post selfies of yourself wearing Phillies cartoon characters on your t-shirt.
