Well...not only is Scottie a lock for POY and money title and ...all other awards
After today, he's got to be a lock for that PGA tour bonus for social media brand promotion

I want to reiterate our country just arrested the #1 golfer in the world and charged him with a felony for trying to get into a golf tournament
We truly are a fricking retarded country

For those who are unfamiliar with the operations of large, unionized city police departments, I can pretty much guarantee the worst that happens to the idiot cop who arrested him is a light slap on the wrist. The union will say he did nothing wrong and the police department won't fight the union. LMPD will publicly apologize, say they're investigating, and hope it dies.
Add this incident to a long list of retard cops getting their ego bruised and creating a massive issue for their city, state, or even country. There are guys like Officer Bryan Gillis in every police department, and they're all hated by coworkers, but nothing can be done because they're protected. Gillis is so fricking stupid he ruined what is probably a very easy and well-paying extra-duty job, and the number one rule of working extra-duty jobs is don't piss off the people paying you.
I'd be shocked if Louisville ever sees another PGA event.

I think the PGA sold Valhalla, so it likely wouldn't have, anyway.

weird that a detective grade cop was out there in full uniform at 6 AM directing traffic
very weird that the detective was not part of the regular tournament traffic detail
the detective took scottie into custody, cuffed him, put him in an unmarked and immediately took him to jail. will be telling if and when scottie says what the conversation in the cop car was like
darlington said another officer asked him who was it they arrested
I dont think the detective got a supervisor involved at all, I think he did it on his own. the report is textbook cop CYA bull shite
scottie was obviously confused and didnt know what to do, the detective lost his cool and over reacted

I had a detective respond to a minor accident in Oxford for the Morgan Wallen concert a few weeks ago. When there's heavy traffic, sometimes it's all hands on deck.
I feel like Louisville is a bit bigger than Oxford and has more police power, but I base that on zero facts

You think police in other countries would have been more kind to some jackass trying to drive around them? You need to get out more.

If those police had already coordinated and agreed with the event holder that participants in the event would be allowed to enter the only access point to the grounds, and had already done so for other participants, well…yes I do.
I get it. You are a low IQ fella who is lacking in the information processing department. Much like the cop who acted like a low IQ meathead in this situation. You should stay in more.

Well, I lived for 17 years in 7 different countries, mostly South America, Africa, and Asia, and in those countries within 3 minutes the cop's supervisor would have come over and slapped him in the head for being so stupid as to do that to such an important person.
Lol. You telling someone else they should get out more.

How the frick have they not dropped these charges yet? Don't know if I've ever seen a department double down on stupid over and over to this extent.

Some more egg on the face this morning for LMPD.

This is what would have happened in any semi-functioning police department, but Louisville is a shitshow without hope. If this had happened at Avondale, for example, JPSO would've immediately released Scheffler at the scene and reassigned the offending Deputy to the jail by lunchtime.

The police department is out of it now. Scheffler was booked and now the charges sit with the DA, who will surely drop them as soon as they procedurally are able to do so.

I'll partially modify what I previously stated. If this idiot was assigned a body camera and either wasn't wearing it or did not activate it while creating this shitstorm, he's toast. He may not be fired, but he's going to catch some days and probably be reassigned to the shittiest patrol shift in the shittiest sector of the city.
If he had done everything by the book and turned on his camera, he would've been fine.

Makes sense. I bet the other lpd guys are roasting the shite out of him.

I guarantee you they already knew he was an issue. The guys that make the news for questionable acts are always known internally, but until they screw up, nothing can be done due to unions.
His coworkers are probably mostly pissed that he ruined their easy extra-duty job where they sit around and watch golf for $75/hr.
