Heard there was 2 shootings at high school football games last night too. One in Georgia and another in Oklahoma. No way all three are a coincidence.

Just as an update on this for those curious, still nothing definitive has been reported, but a theory that to me seems plausible is the bullet was from a shot fired into the air from a mile away that landed in the stadium. As I mentioned on the last page, I was at the game and nothing seemed out of the ordinary at all, which I can’t imagine would occur in even the least possible panic-enduring scenario (e.g., an accidental discharge from inside someone’s bag/purse from a pistol with a silencer) if the bullet was fired from inside the stadium.

There were no reports of gunfire within the ballpark, and CPD said there was never an active threat. So, police are exploring the possibility that the bullet plunged into the ballpark from above.

A CPD ShotSpotter gunfire detector alerted to nine rounds fired in a back yard in the 300 block of West 42nd Place at 7:22 p.m., according to police dispatch records. That’s about a mile due south of the ballpark. A preliminary police media statement said the women were struck at 7:25 p.m.

Plus a fight at the Chalmette jamboree that triggered the Facebook moms…

Given the attendance at Sox games, at least they have a very small suspect list.

Honestly not a bad idea if they really want to move the team to Nashville. Hire someone to go into the stands and fire a gun off

The rumor now (per Reddit) is that the victim with the more serious injuries triggered the metal detector when entering, but she was cleared. She was obese and hid the gun in her folds of fat. Later, she tried to discretely move it into her purse, and it accidentally went off, hitting her and another fan.

Wish I could say, only in Chicago...but it's everywhere Democrats are the majority.

Yeah, that’s why Florida and Texas have higher crime rates than California and New York.

Well since New York and California don’t prosecute crimes anymore that’s an astute observation. In reality those places are lawless shitholes where residents and businesses are fleeing at unprecedented levels.

ESPN 1000 is reporting this is indeed what happened. I don't even know what to say other than I hope it's true.

Story update, courtesy of Twitter:

As I reported on
@ESPN1000
just now… the shooting at Guaranteed Rate Field during a #WhiteSox game was indeed an accidental discharge by one of the women “grazed” by the bullet. She reportedly snuck the gun in past metal detectors hiding it in the folds of her belly fat.

So a morbidly obese woman shot herself, accidentally.

Need this immortalized in the Smithsonian.

Or send this to aliens out there in other galaxies to let them know Earth is a lost cause and don’t even bother

I guess y’all can throw out the theory of a minority being the perpetrator now

A story revolving around a gun, fat person, and laziness by employees is the most American story I’ve ever heard.

I must have missed the mass shootings that have occurred on the regular in both Texas and Florida.
