He defended quite well despite the bus tracks on his back.

Landa was a better teammate to Sepp than his actually teammates were.
I have the feeling that Jonas could have smoked him if he'd been given the greenlight.

Sepp better tell his agent to be on the phone with Ineos or Trek tonight. frick Jumbo.
I would never ride for either of these scumbags again. Wout Van Aert gifted his most important domestique a classic this year. Does winning the Vuelta do anything for either Roglic or Jonas? Absolutely not. If this was the Tour it would be a different story.

British Eurosport post race show just pointed out Roglic cracked on the same climb in a previous Vuelta and Sepp dropped back and helped him.

Sepp won Roglic the Vuelta twice and the Giro this year by bailing his arse out on climbs when he could have gone ahead. Roglic was going to dust Landa in a sprint if it came back together anyway.
Must be hard to ride the Angliru with a knife in your back

On his MF'n birthday.
Don't get it twisted GC wins in GTs are a big part of an all-rounder's legacy even if it is the Vuelta and their marketing value at the time. Plus the Vuelta has a lot more prestige today than years ago, it isn't just the red headed step child of GTs anymore.
Yes, but Gent–Wevelgem isn't a Monument, I bet the outcome would have been different if it had been another cobbled race... say the Tour of Flanders or Paris–Roubaix.
I think it was a jackass thing to do on one hand but on the other super or not Kuss is a domestique and that's what he will be as long as he is on a powerhouse team.
I hate it for Sepp but given the situation at the top of the GC there was no tactical reason for them not to fight it out for the GC as long as their 1-2-3 wasn't in danger. Gifting a stage win... absolutely but gifting a Grand Tour GC title is a whole different thing.

Man it's bush league, especially when combined with some of their comments.

For added context Chris Horner 100% disagrees with me. Who from my point of view has won one more Vuelta than I have, from everyone else's point of view he has won infinitely more Vueltas than I have.
If Stage 17 hadn't had GC implications I would call it horrible and unsupportable.

I was going to watch the butterfly effect earlier but he hadn't uploaded it yet when I was checking, I'll watch it tomorrow.
I did watch Spencer and Johan on the move and they were both pretty upset. They mentioned something about something that might have been said on the radio but in Spanish.
Also said one of the biggest signs was that when they got to the line there was no celebration. after such a spectacular stage.

Horner just blasted them, rightfully so. "Stabbed him in the back" were his words. And he put to bed the 'gifting' talk as well. Jonas and Primoz don't have jack or shite if not for Sepp. And now they won't do jack or shite for him.

Remco has been on an absolute tear since taking himself out of GC contention.

LMAO, Sepp just apologized to Jonas for gapping him.
Best dude in the Peloton, almost to a fault

What an interesting scenario. I don't completely understand unwritten cycling rules, and I know Sepp has ridden for Jonas and Primoz his whole career, but as a casual observer it just seems weird that Jonas is basically going to "gift" it to him.
I'm not sure i'd want to win that way.

He just dropped Jonas on the last climb. No gifts.

It's a little more complicated because on the 2 stages Jonas attacked and won and on the stage Primoz won, Sepp was ordered to stay where he was and not follow so he didn't pull anybody else up to his teammates. So Jonas gained time on him repeatedly and Sepp couldn't do anything about it because he was relegated to service for the team even though he was in red.
But I wouldn't want to be in Sepp's position where announcers are basically treating him like he's a special olympian. I'd want to prove I could win or lose it outright, frick the other two guys.

Oh no I don't believe that's what happened. Jonas just coasted in.
