This story is a big nothing. What two consenting adults do is none of our business. Now they have family and spouses that have every right to care about this and I guess Russini broke some journalism ethics, but she was fired so this is really not a big deal anymore.

The initial photos published were taken in AZ shortly after the owners' meetings in AZ in late March. It could have been a PI that got those photos. This was at a time when the sports calendar was kind of slow and the biggest NFL event was the upcoming draft. If you want max exposure, release them at a time when the NFL was about to get its largest exposure from February of this year until late July
After the initial story caught fire others saw the interest and jumped in out of their own self interest. Maybe there had long been inuendo among those in the business, just not strong enough evidence for them to feel comfortable to push a story out about it. However, once Page Six published its' story the floodgates were opened and now everyone is trying to ride the wave.
There's not really any big conspiracy theory. The first story allowed everyone else who may have suspected an affair to now come forward trying to make a buck.
