Unitas is more of a 60s guy in my mind, though he did have three great years in the 50s

You want NFL history, Dayton Triangles.... book it. NFL ain't new in my town, it was invented here.

They were still breaking Unitas records only a few years ago. had the arm, the brains, the toughness. Won repeatedly in the last two minutes of a game.
He would absolutely murder defenses in today's NFL.
There are probably at least five qb's better than Brady.

frick Tom Brady. He is as soft as charmin.
That being said, he is an all time great but he isn't the greatest player IMO.

Agreed. However, they will not be mentioned in the same breath as Brady.
as they shouldnt be discussed in same sentence as cheaters

Woke up this morning and at the QUARTERBACKING LEVEL it's still Manning>>>everyone else.
I'm more comfortable putting Brady as the GOAT player than I am him as the GOAT quarterback.

Says ...?
I watched Tom Brady complain like a 6 year old girl against the Texans when a rusher took a step & shoved him to the ground.
Jonny Unitas,Otto Graham , Staubach ,Griese , etc.......did not have the following when they played:
1)In the Grasp rule .No crying when you got body slammed
2) no hook slides to save you from defenders essentially circling like sharks to put you out the game.
3) No "strike zone" were the QB cannot be touched above the shoulder pads or below the waist .Every part of the body was fair game except the face mask.
4) No tossing the ball in the dirt to protect you from rushing defenders once you leave the pocket .
Pre 1980 neither did QBs have the following :
1) Lineman who could legally extend arms grab pass rushers to give QBs more time/ protect them from more hits. Legalized "holding" to open the passing game.
2) Mel Blount rule as receivers can no longer be touched pass 5 yards. Open passing game.
3)no defenseless receiver nonsense when it was the defenders job to make Receivers pay for daring to catch a ball .
Unfair to compare eras that are essentially 2 different games.
Tyrod Taylor last 2 seasons had a QB rating higher than most of Johny Unitas , Graham,Staubach, & most pre 1980 great QBs seasons..
Why not just compare these guys to players from this era instead of Crowning them GOAT without understanding how the rules are created to protect QBs & make the passing game much easiear.....?

Steroids weren't against official NFL policy until 1987, so to be technical it wasn't cheating. Spygate and deflategate were alleged instances that were directly prohibited by NFL policy and rules.
I didn't read the meme other than the part about calling his own plays, but to prescribe that retroactively enforcing a rule constitutes cheating is a bit of a stretch.
And Spygate wasn't "cheating" until the 07 season. Nothing in Deflategate was actually proven, but you already knew that.
Your tears are delicious.

Now the question has become: Is he the greatest PLAYER of all-time?
And this is even more silly than comparing different eras.
How can I seriously compare Lawrence Taylor to Elway?
Reggie White to Marino?
Jerry Rice to Manning?
Silly arguments to waste time on instead of appreciating players/ positions/ eras.
Impossible to compare the brutally physical " dead ball era" in the NFL to this pass happy/ QB/ WR protected one.
