re: The question no longer remains is he the greatest QB of all-time

This is true but it's usually true for all multiple Super Bowl winning QBS. Bradshaw had more hall of famers than anybody els. Montana had the father of the modern offense. Aikman also had a bunch of HOF players and a coach who was ahead of the curve as far as understanding free agency and the draft. Again my opinion is Montana was better but I definately wouldn't dismiss someone who said Brady was better. He's my favorite current NFL player.

I think most people forgot about Deflategate last night.
He's won two of the last 3 Super Bowls with properly inflated balls.
I think he's good.

Rice and Lott are the only hall of fame players joe Montana ever played with in frisco. Dunno how that's funny when it's the truth. It's worth a google if you have doubts.

Ok that's fine but you act like he played with A bunch of scrubs...... If you want to put Joe on top I have no problem with that... He was great... He and Brady are the most COOL under pressure QB'S I have ever seen.... BUT Joe had the SAME players for way more years than Brady has had... There is NO disputing that....

No that's not what I meant it's just a lot of trouble comparing pro bowls and all pro awards so I went to hall of famers. Guys like john taylor Brent jones roger Craig tom rathman randy cross bill romanowski charles Haley were all outstanding players. But Brady's had his share of pro bowl level guys too it's just such a long list to compare guys at that level. Like I said Brady is my favorite player and bellicheck my favorite coach it's just my opinion that joe was better. I certainly wouldn't call someone stupid for saying Brady was better. I just think 4-0 during that era trumps 5-2 in this one and I think if QBS and offensive players were protected the way they are now that Joe could've gone 6-0.

I WILL say this... When it mattered most Joe was better... NO doubt... Brady made ordinary guys that we never heard of into stars... Look at Hogan the last few Games and White last night... They come out of nowhere........

His numbers in Super Bowl 50 are just horrendous. The defense won that game all by itself.
Denver is not in a position to play in Super Bowl 50 without Manning. Manning returned in the middle of the game in week 17 and rallied the Broncos to a victory that secured the one seed as opposed to playing in a wild card game. Manning then lead a clutch GW drive against Pittsburgh in the divisional round. The Denver Broncos aren't in the Super Bowl last year with Osweiler at QB.

Debatable.

True but john taylor (Delaware st.) was a nobody too. And I think Brady is as good as Joe in the clutch but I'd've like to see Montana in multiple wr formations and the mismatches they cause. Montana is Brady's idol and I'm glad he's mentioned in the same breath I love everything about Brady and they're almost identicle type players. I just think games like the 85 and 90 Super Bowls were so impressive plus being undefeated I have to give him a slight edge. But again thats a personal opinion and I have no problem with anyone preferring Brady.

No its not... Manning wasn't himself but I doubt Oswaller would have been as clutch as Manning in the playoffs last year....

No. It isn't debatable at all. They would have been playing in a wild card game if Osweiler had remained in the game week 17. He, and the offense, were struggling their way to a loss until Manning returned and saved the day. They would not have won three in a row on the road with Osweiler. They certainly would not have won in Foxborough with Osweiler and probably not with Manning.

Leave out hOF players. Montana played with more all pros year after year. Hell, when Montana left they just replaced him with Young and kept winning
Posted on 2/6/17 at 6:54 pm to prplhze2000
Be honest it took 5 years and mostly an entire new team for them to win without Montana. And steve young is a hall of game qb too it's not like they threw danny white in there and won. Plus Brady has had countless pro bowlers on his team also and the first 2 Super Bowls he was more of a game manager with a great defense that win he didn't become what he is now until 2005.

The pro bowlers Brady had didn't saty as long or were as good.

They still make it to the Super Bowl irregardless with that defense. What does it matter if they're in the Wildcard or the Divisional round?

Except it matters tremendously. Denver won two close games (even with that defense) at home to reach the Super Bowl. They would have had to win three on the road with a QB that was inferior to Manning. One of those three road games (if they got there) would have been the AFC championship in Foxborough. They would have likely lost @NE even with Manning. Fortunately, in large part due to Manning's return, they didn't have to play there.
ETA: Belichick, despite his GOAT HC résumé, also played a huge factor in Denver securing home field and advancing to the SB. To get the one, Denver had to win their final two games. NE had to lose out. Denver won out in large part due to Manning's week 17 return. The two NE losses went like this. Belichick decides to kick after winning the toss in OT against the Jets and NE never gets the ball. Then, Belichick pulls starters and concedes week 17 to Miami. In the AFC title game, Belichick goes for 4th down twice while in FG range and fails both times. Those six points end up being the difference in the game. NE could have kicked a GW FG on their final possession but instead had to score a TD and get a 2 point conversion. The two point play failed and they lost.

I think he is trying to say they got Home field advantadge.... As A wild card they would have had to travel.... I doubt they beat NE IN NE last year in the AFC title game....
