Solid show but the Danettes are the worst.

The dude is an absolute creep. All he does is make weird noises into the mic when he is talking about women. He's gross. And his basement studio looks like a place for a hormonal teenager whose dad doesn't spend enough time with him.

No, Adam Sandler sucks.

It's not the worst sports radio show, not by a long shot. His interviews are solid. Something about the "Dannette" dynamic is weird, those guys really don't do shite but take shots from Dan and stroke his ego.... Also, Adam Sandler movies fricking suck...

His show could be the best on radio, but his obsession with Sandler knocks him down in my opinion. Sandler is a one trick pony and Patrick seems to worship him.

I switched over to watching DP, leaving M&M, several yrs ago. And, yes, some of his stuff gets old, but then I'd suggest anyone knocking him for that try & put on a 2-3 hr tv show, every day, wk after wk. You pretty much run out of new material pretty fast. I find that he's mocking ESPN more than ripping them, and since he's one of the few on tv to do publically, I am all in his corner with this. ESPN needs all the shots taken at it by anyone, it's getting wayyy too big for its britches.

He's a dude who talks about sports for a living, I think you're reading into it a bit too much.

i hate interviews. they are the worst part of sports radio. i have never listen to DP, not that im anti, i just dont know when/where it comes on in my area and dont particularly care enough to find out. i think that out of the herd, SVP, and jimothy rome, the herd has it right interviewing media guys with perspective on the situation than interviewing jocks/coaches who go the show and toe the company line for 5 minutes
I completely agree in general.

But if you want to hear good interviews, check out LeBatard's radio show. He's the best interviewer in the business.

He'll make an interview with anyone interesting. He does a great job too of getting interesting guests in and out of the sports world right as these guests are in the news for whatever reason that may be.

I'd definitely say he's not for everyone though. He'll randomly have on an athlete or an analyst in a particular sport and literally never ask a single question about the sport the athlete plays or analyst analyzes, but that's what makes it great IMO.

I think Dan is good on any topic that doesn't remotely tweek his self-esteem. If his ego gets involved then the program devolves into:

Usually when I catch his show in my car, near the end of the show, I rarely hear talk about sports. I just wish it didn't go up against the Herd, because that's the one radio show I refuse to listen too. Are there any other sports radio stations other than 1350 and 106.1 in NOLA?

Dan Patrick is the NPR of sports talk radio.

Really boring but super insightful with his knowledge of sports.

I listen to it everyday but I think I am starting to get burnt out on it. He does have a huge ego and treats the crew as beneath him sometimes. Sometimes it's a joke but sometimes he is serious. I really don't care for any of them besides McLovin. I like Pauley (seems like a good guy) but he doesn't really add much to the talking portion of the show. He also tends to spend way too much time on golf and David Faherity. BTW, I can't stand against the grain. I go to bed listening to the show and that crap is so loud.

I got to bed listening to DP during the week and Lebatard on the weekends.
