If Riley comes up and does well, and Carmago picks up where he left off, do we move on from Swanson then?

Can carmargo transition to SS? I have no idea, but based on his defense at 3rd, I bet he could. especially if he has an off-season to work on it.

Lots of "ifs" in there obviously.

DOB saying only about 30 million available to spend. Also stated they want to hold back some money in case they need to acquire someone at the deadline

DOB Twitter

MLBTR notes on payroll

So no big free agents for sure

DOB imo doesn’t know his arse from a hole in the ground. The math does not add up and his responses to those people asking him to walk through the math were typical DOB.

They have less than $85M committed which is verifiable and the OD payroll was $115M and total payroll was $130M last season.

AA today said that the payroll will be higher than last season and no one in the media knows the number. The $30M he threw out would mean a lower payroll on OD than last year. Just doesn’t add up like much of what he’s said over the last 10 years or so.

Bowman says $60mil

quote:

Today’s session with Anthopoulos confirmed the Braves will have plenty financial flexibility. Specifics weren’t revealed, but it appears they’ll have at least $60M to fill multiple needs: Catcher, OF, Bullpen depth, a SP, but only if Corbin or another frontline option makes sense

re-upping Snit kinda leans to them being budget-conscious this offseason. Guy is just a placeholder, obviously.

This Phillie Phanatic enjoys DOB and his blog, DOB is a huge Mat(Replacements fan)..

Has great music taste, does a solid Top 50 album list yearly, actually turned me into a big Killer Mike/ RTJ fan by his suggestion of an local ATL act.

Camargo doesn't have the range for a full time SS, he's been a negative there in his limited MLB innings. His arm obviously plays anywhere of course.

Who is better? Bowman? I like Bowman a lot more, but DOB is probably Atlanta's best sports writer (not that there are any good ones outside of the Braves).
