Are we releasing Day? I figured he would be a part of the pen.

Yeah doubt we can get out from under that. Should have included him.

He said he thinks Fried will be in ML bullpen from jump next year. Touki could go either way but he thinks they are leaning towards making him core bullpen piece. Multi inning high leverage type guy. Thinks both are elite bullpen pieces on championship team.

Other than Soroka I think both those guys have the highest ceiling of any of our young arms. Hope they make the rotation someday. Touki’s curve is just stupid and Max also has a wipeout curve while touching 97 effortlessly while being a southpaw.

If Riley disappoints

He will, he's a walking K in Gwinnett, 33% SO percentage in AAA.

Harper is exactly the dose this team needs. Power and arrogance with a good supporting staff.

think Camargo is a “premium utility guy”

He has ice water in his veins. He's an everyday guy. Switch hitter too.

AA seems to try and go cheap on batting power. Duda, Duvall, Bautista.

All this doesn't matter until we can get 1 more arm a several BP arms.

Wouldn’t mind taking a shot at Sonny Gray. Probably wouldn’t take a lot to get to him. It didn’t work out with the Yankees but he was legit with Oakland.

-Thinks they go short term on a RF like Pollock if they don’t get Harper. 2 yr/$40M was his guess. After adding Pollock and Grandal and clearing money from Julio would allow them to add a couple vet arms to the pen.
-You add Riley/Pollock/Grandal to core plus a few vets in bullpen without any long term commitments and you are favorite in division next year. Still have pitching chips to make almost any deal you want down the line.
-You then wait on Contreras and Waters to replace Grandal and Pollock and Pache to replace Inciarte for even cheaper and you’ll have even more flexibility to fill any holes that are open down the line in terms of both cash and player capital.

All of this would make me super happy and very impressed with AA. Grandal and Pollock on short term deals would be pretty much perfect. We'd just need to get a solid backup OF in case/for when Pollock gets injured.

Liberty Media wanted this new stadium to help compensate for a so-called media executive making an idiotic TV deal fifteen years ago that handcuffed this team. They needed the revenue from the new stadium, they told us, to compete with other teams that have more lucrative local TV contracts. And again, if you’ve ever been to SunTrust Park, it looks like a mission accomplished

Good article but some inaccuracies.LM doesnt decide how much or little the Braves spend. Its a complicated arrangement but the Braves are a separate entity and the front office and chairman have the final say so.

Also, the TV deal has been reworked and isnt nearly as bad as it once was.

He is right about the payroll speculation...no one really knows.

Swanson

How much time will Dans get?

I am thinking because good looking guy who does "it the right way" and playing for the hometown team, he gets a little bit more time...

Because, you have to at least try to get Machado if not Harper, right?

Just don't want to keep a spot filled with someone who can't hit .240 just because he's from Atl...

Also, thought this list was interesting. 2019 FA by position

He’s an elite defender and base runner while being a mediocre hitter at 23.

Definitely needs a couple of years before pulling then plug.

Good for him. Well deserved.

I'm not sure I'm ready for the Braves to move into the sweatshirt hoodie generation of managers just yet

Results for pitching staff ended up being pretty good but AA mentioned they wanted someone who could better or more comfortably integrate the analytics in to their pitching approach.
