You think Wright gets traded in a deal for Realmuto? I think that's the only way he isn't in the opening day rotation in 2019

If Realmuto and Conley are coming back in the deal, who else do you think goes back to the Marlins? I would assume Pache is involved too

Really worried about Camargo and Flowers. I know Realmuto is an option and of course Riley will come eventually, but just don’t think they’re every day players. Hard to take the next step in 19 if thats our best options.

Flowers will almost for sure be someone’s backup next season.

Camargo has a pretty dang good year man. I know it was a bad series but can’t dismiss a very solid year IMO

Yep. Flowers will only see his playing time decrease next year. He is likely going to be strictly a backup unless they go all in on a Harper or Machado and can’t get a front line catcher.

Camargo has proven himself to be a starter imo. I think as we are building depth he is a great candidate to move around as needed. Though I listed him on the bench I think he will be in there (can probably play everywhere except catcher or CF) 4-5 days a week. There’s almost always somebody scuffling, hurt, bad matchups, etc. and being able to plug a guy like Camargo in is a luxury we haven’t had. Outside of Acuña and Freeman who should be in there 160 times everyone else could be shuffled around to get our best 8 every night.

First time in a long while I’ve watched probably 140+ games. Such a fun team. Can’t wait for next year. Wish it didn’t have to end like it did but I’m not pissed like a lot of our playoff outs.
pretty much my feelings exactly

It was a fun 6+ months of watching baseball.

There's a lot to be hopeful for the next few years. Excited to see what moves we make in the offseason given the finances

I think AA is gonna find a way to shoehorn Josh Donaldson into the lineup. I think he wants that fire and grit to help cultivate the culture he wants. And we need both another veteran and a big right-handed bat in the lineup. I love Donaldson, but I’m just afraid at 32/33, the way he plays has taken a major toll on his body. And he’s either off the juice, which will see a decline in his power numbers, or he’ll crank it up even more and get caught. Good news is with his bad, injury-plagued 2018 season, he should be able to be gotten relatively cheap.

But I’m not ready to give up on Camargo yet as an everyday player. Dude had a very nice year and seems to be growing into his power. Playing a full season and just natural progression should have him hitting 25+ homers with 90+ RBI, depending on where he hits in the lineup. And he’s a switch hitter to boot. If we sign Donaldson, I wouldn’t mind moving Camargo to short and piecing Dansby together with some young arms to go after a power bat in the OF, solidified SP, or some Major League ready back of the pen arms.

But I think you have to make a legitimate play for Harper and Machado. Those dudes can rarely be had without giving up.assets, and with the energy Acuna and Albies sparked this year, Atlanta may be a sexier destination to sign with, since the 90s/early aughts.

AA values defense and Camargo is not a good defensive SS. He has poor range. No chance he plays there next year.

Fair enough. I don’t know enough—or anything, really—about how well he played at short in the minors and in limited time in Atlanta. I just think you have to find a place for his bat, and I think Donaldson is in Atlanta opening day.

Carmago is a piece that every playoff caliber team has. Just not as an everyday starter. But a guy that can start 120-130 games. A good manager would start getting him reps in the OF this winter.

lol, dude has been worth 3 WAR for three straight years. Great defense in CF. If you're a true playoff caliber team he is a great piece to have. He shouldn't have to be a focal point of a lineup to where "you dont want him back cause he is a black hole".

I've looked at where we are at payroll-wise for next season and beyond.

I've got us at about $84-$85 million going into next year , which should leave us around $40 million to spend on free agents, maybe more.

I love our young core of players. Realistically, we have a bunch of #2 or #3 starters (as of now) and a several really good sticks and some nice pieces in the pen.

These young guys will improve and potentially, we can be scary good!

IMO, we have the funds and are in position to add 1 of the following 3 players -

Bryce Harper
Manny Machado
SP Dallas Keuchel

Sign 1. I'm not looking for a 35 year old cheap veteran SP. We need an ACE.

We also need a perennial stud-type stick to go with Freeman, Acuna, Albies, Inciarte and Camargo.

Go buy one or make a trade for one.

And lastly, yes - Craig Kimbrel. Adding him at $10 mill a year would push all those good bullpen arms down a notch and we're set.

We are in a great position right now. Probably as good of a position as any team in MLB to be contenders for the next 3-4 years.

We have a strong young roster, a ton of room on the payroll and a ton of talent in the pipeline.

Potentially, this is going to be a great off season.

Kimbrel is going to command $15-17$ mil per year

guy they should trade for is Mad Bum. Sign him, extend him and thats that. Though im not sure that ATL would have the hitting prospects to get that done, its worth looking into.

id see about bringing in Mccutchen or CarGo on a short deal. Brian Dozier should be in the cards. I dont think youre landing Harper or Machado but thats just imo.

I don't think we are either, but we are in the perfect spot to do so. There is no reason why our Front Office shouldn't go after one of those players.

They're young and have years of great ball in their tank.... just like our young core.
