Not happy about a McCann flowers platoon

I think the Braves see William Contreras as the future everyday catcher but he probably won’t be ready til 2020 or 2021. I think we still add a corner outfielder in a trade or free agency and keep Camargo for insurance if Donaldson goes to the DL. I think the Braves will try Camargo in the outfield in spring training and see if he can handle it. Camargo or Riley will probably still be the long term option at 3rd after next season.

You think Braves are better with flowers+Ozzie as opposed to Realmuto+ carmago?
Posted on 11/27/18 at 2:09 pm to lsu31always
straight up? or as a part of a package?

Close for 2019, but I would rather have Realmuto/Camargo gun to my head. I think Albies is probably a 1 win or so better than Camargo at 2nd and Realmuto is probably closer to 2 wins better than FlowCann. It would likely be a downgrade defensively at both spots though to be fair considering how much value the Braves place on framing.
I would much rather have 5 years of Albies than 2 of Realmuto though.

Yeah I mean that's why we didn't entertain it, I'm sure.
But the Albies ask for Realmuto isn't ridiculous, IMO.

I’m excited to have the bringer of rain. I expect a real solid year from him, but not quite what he was a few years ago.
Excited to have McCann back too. Mostly for nostalgic purposes, but also how he can help our pitchers and his clubhouse presence.

Arguably the best move yet this offseason, IMHO

By far the best news of the offseason. frick joe simpson

Hard to judge Frenchy with Joe being so toxic in those 3 man booths. He is at least young and energetic.

Rick Kranitz is expected to be hired as the #Braves’ new pitching coach. He was let go by the #Phillies last month in a surprising move after Aaron Nola in particular and the Philly staff in general improved in Kranitz’s one season as the head pitching coach there.
