Saw earlier this spring that some scouts said that Rio Ruiz (3b at AAA who we got along with Folty in the Gattis trade) was one of the most improved players they saw this spring. The 3b position will probably be in flux until Kevin Maitan is ready. He's the future.

Took the day off from work like I do every year. Got my brand new Dansby batting practice jersey on, and drinking beer.
Best day of the year.
My predictions on the year:
-78 wins
-Dansby ROY
-Freeman starts at DH in All Star Game
-Jaime Garcia is our other rep for the All Star game, and is traded for a back end top 100 prospect before the trading deadline
-Ozzie doesnt get called up until mid August like Dansby last year
-Acuna is a top 10 prospect in baseball by the end of the year
-But one other prospect has a better year, Max Fried

In terms of 2017, if the Braves decide that Ozzie is ready for the call up, what do we do if Phillips is having a solid year and the team is winning? Do you still try and trade him (remember he has a no-trade clause and I think it limits the teams that he can be traded to)? Do you move Phillips or Ozzie to 3B short term for this season only?
I would imagine that platooning them wouldn't be an option. I feel that if the Braves think Ozzie is ready then they would want him to play everyday.

We arent winning anything this year. We're not going to rush Ozzie.
Phillips can be traded, we will just owe him a bonus for trading him. That was worked out before we traded for him.

If Ozzie is ready, I don't think the Braves allow Phillips to be in the way. He would either be traded or DFA'd. We only owe him I think $500,000 in either scenario in addition to the $1 million we are paying him.
