Would love us to just break this open and get some low leverage innings on the back half tonight

I think I want Wacha and Lane Thomas from the Royals. Fill 2 huge holes, and Wacha has 2 more years of potential control. Thomas crushes LHP and would be a nice platoon piece with Yaz, but hits righties well enough to start against them, too. Great athlete. Rental, so shouldn’t take much to get him. Depends on what they’d want for Wacha, but the names I’ve read are Owen Murphy, JR Richie, or Hurston Waldrep and position player prospect, but no names were mentioned.

Both fill holes that would make us better this year, and shouldn’t cost so much that we still couldn’t add a lesser name high leverage reliever or 2. Or 1, and another MOR rotation guy that could be a rental and should lower his team’s ask.

Thoughts?

I'd love another lefty starter considering the Dodgers and Phillies are loaded with lefty bats. I don't think we get Skubal, but Trevor Rogers would be a really good get.

Perez has a special night going and a very low pitch count.

Probably pitching the game of his life.57 pitches through 6th.

Don't think Walt yanks 'em too soon.

A #2 starter is key.

We need that and another bat, whether that’s at SS or in the OF to move Dubon to SS.

We could use another bullpen arm as well, especially if Suarez is out

Really had a chance with that pitch count. Phenomenal start, regardless. Best offense in baseball can’t hit him.
