Dubon was never intended to carry the load he has early on. He is meant to be a guy who will play 4 days a week spelling people all over the field.
Kims fall off the planet and us having non stop injuries and issues in corner OF has foced him into being an everyday starter.
This must be addressed at the deadline so he can serve his role he was meant to which he will be excellent at.

Sanchez and the Phillies were shut out by the Brewers.

I wonder what the orioles would require for Gunner Henderson
If they come back and say Hurston Owen Murphy our 1st round pick and pool money next year and a lottery from our farm do you take it?

Right, but because of his torrid start, we are in the prime position that we are in now.
Unfortunately, that was never sustainable, even in a contract year. He's still a valuable piece that is needed for a team as injury prone as us. But Dubon can't be considered one of four best hitters in October if we want to do anything of note in the postseason.

Maybe Zach Netto would be a better idea he’d maybe be a little less expensive in farm capital

Let the Mets have this, it's their Super Bowl.

Volpe could also be someone maybe at least asking about, and would also cost considerably less than Gunner or Neto maybe allowing us to allocate more resources to the pitching

Did you guys see New York media are all already reporting Bichette is opting out of his deal after this season?
Likely put out by his agent
La fail Mets lol

You’re complaining about buying out arb years
Ozzie's deal wasn't good because it bought out arb years, it was good because it gave us option years at a reasonable rate, same as Acuna's deal. If you are taking the risk on buying out arb years you need to actually get something from it.
Strider's extension gave us nothing in return, which is why it was stupid. We basically got one market value option year for overpaying his arb years. Which is dumb. The Harris extension is an example of a worthwhile risk, even if he flopped and fell off we got two cheap extension years and two reasonable option years, which is worth the assumed risk. Strider was not, particularly when you throw in his injury problems in college and his previous TJ surgery.
The problem with the Riley deal was that massive 10 year type deals pretty much never work out, and while the Dodgers have the endless payroll to make such mistakes, we don't. Particularly when AA overspends on relievers like it's going out of style.
And while the Olson deal has worked out well, losing Freddie because he refused to give him 6 years, then signing Olson to an 8 year deal was nonsensical given they are three years apart in age, and Freddie had a swing/bat that would likely age much better.
If AA had just signed Freddie we would have Contreras and Langeliers as our catchers and Drake as DH, and had way more money to fill our giant gaping hole in LF.
As mentioned, AA is a solid GM overall, but not an amazing one. For every great move he's had he's also made too many knee jerk responses that have hurt the team.

Hope it's not true, that would be great for the Mets to get his inefficiencies out of their lineup.

Riley is likely lost for this season
I didn't watch the end of the game. Did he get hurt or you just mean lost like he has been for the last 3 years

Bichette would be a total idiot to do that after the year he's having, and that would be a lucky break for the Mets by saving them from being dumb enough to sign him to begin with.

Unfortunately the latter.
I don't mean this maliciously, it could do Riley some good to get hurt. Let him get a break to reset his mind, retool his swing and get some hacks on the farm.
The way he is just spinning his gears with no improvement in sight is doing no one any good right now

I assume he has to know that he can’t be that much of an idiot.
I would guess he simply doesn’t like it there. Either playing in New York or the culture of the team.
They never look like they’re having fun when they’re playing and it just seems like a miserable locker room to play in especially when you’re now being forced to be embarrassed trying and failing to play SS something you thought wouldn’t happen since Lindor can’t stay healthy

We also have to have some type of production for the catchers when they are batting. Our catchers were a combined .089 at the plate over the last month.

Rockies up 23-9 on the As. Wow

Yea without Baldwin we are quite literally losing a hit game and that one hit is probably worth a 1 run with how many batters we are stranding lately.
