I just dont see Elder going under 3 era again this season, and it likely goes up over 4.

We basically have an Ace then a bunch of tossups.

Again I have said this before if we can do a trade deadline where we bring in

Joe Ryan
Chapman (or as close to equivalent from a dead team as will come)
And an OF that is the caliber of Taylor Ward

It’ll be a success.

Hurston and AJSS are gong to contribute this season.

I am expecting not to see Schwelly all year and anything he gives us would be bonus

Yea i think we are okay without Schwelly, but we need an incredible surge from a young guy.

I wouldnt even be shocked if Fuentes starts ticking up his pitch count soon.

If the Red Sox really want to tear everything down to the foundations a trade bringing back Chapman and Duran to us would be very interesting

It would cost us heavily though Duran still has arb years

Dude put up 9 war 2 seasons ago and started cold this year but has been coming alive

It cannot be under stated just how important Drake is to this team

He has missed a month and is still the best catcher in the NL by 1.3 fWAR

Remains to be seen, when we get to the postseason, but if you had to bet you're life savings on a playoff series between the Braves and Phillies at this moment, who would you feel more confident in?

Yep he is that spark.

We just gotta hobble into the all star break and then hope everyone is back ready after.

Way too many variables to say especially with the pitching.

Sale will be the best starter in the series and Phillies only production mostly is from left handed batters I’d be confident we win that game

Who we pitch in game 2 and 3 I don’t even know right now but the Phillies have the same issue behind Wheeler

We crush Nola every time we see him and I wound think he’d take game 2.

Our bullpen is incredibly better built to win in the postseason than there’s.

Basically if you can guarantee me one of Hurston AJSS or a trade acquisition can be a solid playoff 2 for us because strider isn’t there at the moment I’d take us in a 5 game series all things equal no injures

Every team in the league that spends in the level range we do carries dead weight contracts there isn’t a single one I couldn’t go find examples of in the top 12 payrolls.

Other teams are willing to spend a little more to cover their dead weight. We have to maximize every dollar spent.

The Phillies, for instance, have dead weight in the rotation in Aaron Nola. I fully expect them to be in the Skubal sweepstakes at the deadline to make up for it. They're only going to get maybe 1 or 2 more chances with this core and they're going to go for it.

We are in the same boat but refuse to admit it.

Wheeler isn't even their best pitcher. Cristopher Sanchez is. Sanchez is probably the best pitcher in the NL right now.

Despite the loss, still one game up on the win every series, split on the road pace.

Long and winding road for a Braves fan to try and convince himself to not say Phillies.

The Phillies are the better and more complete team right now. We'll see if that's still the case in October.

They’re both incredible atm wheeler hasn’t played the whole season like Sanchez has has a lower whip and roughly same ERA.

Forgot Sanchez was having as good of a year he is having though. I knew he was going good but not that good

From MLB.com this morning

quote:

The Braves fit into several of these buckets. They roster the second-oldest pitching staff (31.2 average weighted age). As electric as the 37-year-old Chris Sale is, he might not have another year like this. They also possess one of the oldest position-player groups.

Phillies last 10 games 7-3

Braves last 10 game 6-4

I’m shaking in my boots

They’re about to lose today just like us as well so 8 back they stay

They have a better Team ERA and Team OPS than us over the last month.

Stop being emotional and just look at it analytically.

They are better than us right now. If fans won't accept it, the front office knows they won't have to accept it.

The OPS could have something to do with us missing a guy with a .910 OPS the past month maybe im just saying, which is 70 points higher than Harpers

The pitching needs the be addressed though youre right

Sure, but Baldwin alone doesn't fix everything with an offense that has a crap ton of holes right now.

Riley is likely lost for this season and you're seeing Dubon and Smith, who were so important early on, come down to earth.
