Best record in the leagues and you're gonna give up?
You think they’re the best team in the league?
No idea what the other poster means by “giving up” but I think most fans feel as though it’ll be another short playoff run. And very fortunate to make the playoffs due to career years from Dubon and Dom which likely won’t last.
I don’t blame anyone for the frustrations they have with this window being slammed shut due to AA’s patchwork which was successful for 60 games but not sustainable.

Unless we swing a deal for some top end rotation help, Baldwin picks up where he left off, Acuna can get back and stay back and Riley gets his head out of his shitbag arse, then this season is starting to feel like another postseason where we win the East but then the Phillies take us out in the NLDS.

Dammit we fricking suck! The fricking Mets? frick you Elder!

You are way more hopeful than me. The current status of this ball club indicates to me they will fade into the nether regions of the division unless EVERYTHING you mention above happens and I for one, am not counting on that. If Baldwin gets back this week and picks up where he left off that may be a catalyst. I am resigned to the fact that the Riley and Acuna shite ain't gonna happen
Also, starting pitching which is already suspect will only get worse

AA’s patchwork produced the best record in spring training and the best record so far this season. Getting Drake and Ronald back will help immensely.

Won't help Elder turning back into a pumpkin and reverse time so that Strider's elbow doesn't go explodey.

By the way, you told me to get a hold of myself....there was no way we were going to lose a series to the Mets. You obviously have not been taking note of what has been happening to this roster lately.
I simply don't belong to the "I am simply not going to be a member of the I am going to be happy win or lose club"

Bruh a baseball season is 162 games long.
There’s going to be stretches we go 5-5 or even worse. Or even a bit worse for one 10ish game stretch.
The owners let him spend right up until the second apron line, we added 50 million to the payroll for 3 players getting Suarez for 3 years 45 million which looks like a steal currently seeing as he had the best rated pitch in all of baseball his change up it’s got the highest positive run value, Iggy 1 year 16 million well that contract is one of the best in a long time with how he’s played, and yazz 2 years 23 million which really isn’t a bad contract for him at all he’s been playing much better. Kinley was retained for 4.25 million with a club option he has performed well above that market value, Kim at 20 million is the only massive miss for the big signings.
Then every single team in MLB fills out their rosters with journey men or other teams cast offs
You’re complaining about the follow btw
Dominic Smith- 1 year split contract of 1.25 million
Jorge Mateo- 1 year 1 million
Dubon- gotten in a trade for nick allen with the astros eating half his salary this year of 6.1 million
AA is better than anyone in the league at getting these kind of players. We literally won a World Series because of it.
So having said all of that, and with much of our actual core all signed to buy out their arbitration years, what would you have had AA done differently?
We were never going to go above the second apron but we have the 7th highest payroll in the league
Our farm system is actually climbing in the rankings asomehow against all odds with the penalties we have been under that come off next draft and international signing. Some places are rating us in the high 20s now and we ranked 28th ending last season.
Idk how AA could do more than what he has with what he’s given

See where the Braves are batting in the 6th down 6-1. Looks like an allround team asskicking today.......no pulse today or what? Next thing up the lowly Giants in Atlanta for 3 w/o Sale making a start. Atl will be lucky to win 1 of those games IMO

Not give up the farm for Sean Murphy.
Not erase arb years for no reason.

In a perfect world? Not broken off Riley and Strider so soon or trade for Sean Murphy. And resign Freddie so we have a catching corp of Drake and Langeliers.
But that’s in a perfect world.

Every team in baseball nails every big contract or risky contract they sign but the Braves. You’re right.
Striders wasn’t a bad move. Injuries to starting pitchers happen.
Riley was looking like the best 3B in baseball when he got the contract
You can disagree with how he bought out so many arb years, but are you going to be complaining about how we basically have had Ozzie his entire career for so far below market value?

This I wholeheartedly agree with.
I am sure if we have a level head about this we will think of others

So when he signed Ozzie to a contact buying out his arb years that was so grossly underpaying him it allocated money to other needs you complained right?
Posted on 6/14/26 at 2:39 pm to td01241
No I was wondering what kind of Agent was representing Ozzie
Posted on 6/14/26 at 2:40 pm to LSUJockStrap
Some of those have worked some of them haven’t
Acuna isn’t even paid that much for only playing like 2 full seasons I still think it was a good move, Ozzie was an amazing move, Harris looks like it will be really good.
You win some you lose some. Olson is also on a great contract

You're creating a crazy strawman because you're mad people are down on the team right now.
We won in 2021 when we weren't supposed to, which is great, but then AA made a shite ton of dumb and risky moves after that that shut a young core's window, which was not great.
He's not a bad GM, but he's not a great one either.
