Not really when you take into account that it starts in March now with the players instead of April with the masters, but I get your point. They're trying to hype the playoffs more without competing with football on weekends.
March-July is the same as April-August though

This is how I feel.
If his back is good, I could see Morikawa being in play.

Year 9, of me hoping somehow Speith can complete the career grand slam. I root for it every year, and it has become a lost cause. He just hasn’t been the same since the Masters choke. He’s actually somewhat competed this year. 4 Top 12 finishes.
Sounds like a year that is destined to have, Rory and Scottie competing towards the top. Young will be up there. Gut tells me Fitzpatrick isn’t in contention come Sunday. Bryson likely competes.
I’ll feel great about any of Scottie, Speith, or Bryson taking it home. I’ve never been a fan of Brooks, but somehow find myself rooting for him to be towards the top of the leaderboard. I find myself rooting for Brooks a little more after his return to the PGA.
Nobody will be shocked with a Scottie or Rory win, but a win, inches them closer and closer towards the best ever. If Young wins, he solidifies himself moving forward as a guy who can win multiple majors.
I also want to see Fowler compete.

Sneaky top 10 based on how he's playing and how he played here in 2018.
don't see him getting over the hump though.

Block deserves to be booed every time he stands over the ball. I’m glad the douchebaggery he displayed a few years ago has not been forgotten.

This course sucks, no,trees, and soft conditions, somebody is gonna shoot 9 under day 1. This is why moving the PGA up in the calendar year is dumb. Most years the typical weather pattern for the NE is cooler and wetter than most other places. Remember when they played BP Black and it was wet, cold and soft, Either move this date back to August or move the tournament to a region where it is firm and fast. Which is almost nowhere this time of year. This product is brought to you by the same asshats that can’t figure out how to win the Ryder Cup.

The conditions shouldn't be soft all week. Today it got some moisture but it has been in a drought.
Scores will be pretty low regardless.
