The season’s most boring major has arrived. In a forgettable spot in May. But at least back to a traditional course, not a modern dump like Valhalla.

Sweet course but I can see the players going pretty low if the greens don't get pretty slick. Pretty short course for a major. Hopefully they get some US Open speed on the greens and keeps the course on the semi lower side.

So lame. Definitely prefer the older schedule better.

Bombers are going to shred this place. Doesn't sound like any of the bunkers will be in play off the tee and they will be able to hit driver off every hole besides par 3s.

Rory said it's going to be bombs away and short wedges in. Not much trouble to get in off the tee. Lots of rain so they're expecting low scores.

I much prefer this schedule. The deadest times in sports

April
May
June
July

We get a major in each of these months

Once August is here football saves is and we don’t need something to buzz about

The players already said anything under (-12) would be a winning score

I think the long iron golfers like Henley, Morikwara type are probably at a bigger advantage than bombers. Scottie is just the best of those types.

You want to be accurate on the greens. Putting yourself in bad spots for possible 3 putts will get you in big trouble. That's why approach will be key

Michael Kim already said you don't need to be a bomber to clear most of the bunkers.

It just makes the "important" part of the PGA season seem so short. Like after The Open there isn't too much to get excited for for a long time.

Yep, particularly in a non ryder year. Fedex cup is dumb. Could be better if Tour Championship went to match play as is being considered

What you get when Gil Hanse comes in and cuts down all the trees like he does on every course.

I have no idea why they don’t jsut make a 7,300 yard Beau chene. That course would have pros fricked mentally on the tee box

18 holes with internal OB on both sides of every single fairway and green

What has better odds, either Scottie or Rory winning vs the field winning?

No one is going to be playing long irons besides par 3s.

The long guys will be wedge in and have an advantage on any tricky pins vs guys hitting 7-9s into greens.

I expect Scheffler, Rory, Rahm and Young to kill this place. Bryson too if his clubs printed correctly and are behaving.

Sure but if they're not playing from the fairway it won't matter. Accuracy T2G will be more of a factor than distance. The majority of the Top-30 Golfers will carry the bunkers

Don’t disagree.

Point is that Scheffler, Young and Rory are top 15 in total driving. They will still have a huge advantage.

No idea where Rahm and Bryson are but expect them to tear this place up like they do at most PGAs.

Those guys are all Top-10 in ball striking stats so it's not really saying much considering you're using the best three players.

You're discounting guys like Morikwara, Henley, Aberg and Si Woo who could all win this tournament if their putters get hot.
