I think Rory and Phil are both probably top 10 golfers ever, but I’d rank Rory slightly ahead. Honestly they may be #9 and #10.
Rory could already be top 5 of all-time if he didn’t go 11 years without winning a major smack in the middle of his prime. Not sure if he will get there at this point, but you never know. He’s 37 and you have to figure he’ll play great golf until he’s 45 or so

Tom has 8 majors & like an extra dozen wins. That exceeds the slam by a good bit imo, but when Rory hangs it up, they will probably be in the same tier.
Rory would still need a big surge to reach the next level, which is consensus all timers like Hogan, Palmer (a LOT more regular wins), Snead (see above), Hagen, and Player.

I don’t necessarily disagree. But they are now on the same level/tier. Mickelson was ahead of Rory before this weekend. There are still two tiers ahead of them.

We were like 1 millimeter away with Scotties putt on 17 somehow not going in from having what would have been the best playoff in Masters hstory. My god a Rory/Scottie playoff would have been awesome.
