So your position is parents are never allowed to take new jobs and move? Kids can’t move schools even if they sit a year?

I don’t think high school sports should be about consolidating power in a few schools.

I think local kids should get preferential treatment in that I think school teams should be made up of kids that grew up in the area. This way, there would be more parity and more kids getting a chance, and this would overall increase the good that comes from high school sports.

Transfers that happen as a natural consequence of job changes or whatever are one thing. Transfers so that a kid can play at a certain school are shite, IMO.

You don’t think it should be like that but it’s not gonna stop… why would a potential baseball player NOT go to Barbe lol… then if they don’t make it then play somewhere else

So communism …cool

Or schools could compete and stop offering shite product and acting like they own every kid that grew up there

It’s just funny to me that shite like that happens all the time and you think there was NOTHING shady going on behind the scenes. Like, this was just a completely organic, random move for a family because of a work situation. Give me a break

If schools want to recruit that’s fine, but please for the love of god separate the schools that play by different rules than everyone else. There’s no reason that a run of the mill 5A school should have to compete with super schools like Barbe for anything, especially when everyone knows how much they bend the rules to get players on their teams. I don’t give a shite how good they are at paperwork (you know damn well there’s a system for this type of shite to avoid being ‘caught’)

So potentially 5 players?

Yea, 777 totally nothing to see here. Keep acting like barbe is on a level playing field with everyone else.

This shite is out of control. It’s like schools like barbe, etc have a transfer portal and nobody else does

Crazy.

This is an unhinged response to the opinion I put forth.

Thinking that high school baseball is a “product” and talking about ownership of kids (wtf?)….Not everything is a commercial question.

Believing that communities are important, and that it’s good for more kids to get more opportunities doesn’t make me a communist.

And while we are on the subject, isn’t Barbe a public school? As someone who pays taxes but doesn’t send my kids to government schools, I don’t really want to be lectured on communism by someone who does.

I am in the same boat as you, my kids are in private

I just think it’s stupid

1 kid transfers 2+ hours away cause dad got transferred then 3 freshman that will prolly never even pant at barbe show up and people want to get pissy

And I come at it more from the private school standpoint of everyone should compete. Don’t like kids loving provide better school, better coaching, better learning environments, better facilities and kids won’t leave

Why do y’all care if they sit out the year and the transfer is documented? By sitting out, they’ve completed the proper process.

Sam Houston is the most impressive team I've seen so far this year. I've been behind the plate for two of their games(1 win and 1 loss).

For me it was Benton. Had them for two games, one on the dish and another in the field. They are solid, well coached, and play fundamental, team-first baseball. Pitchers worked fast and stayed in the zone. Hitters were up there looking to hit.

I can promise the NOLA, BR(especially AP & LP) and WM don’t want to play that game, cause yall get as many out of district kids than anyone.

I'm with you. BTW, the MVP in the state championship last year was from Brooklyn, NY.

I'm not surprised by that. I haven't seen them this year, but I had them for a playoff series last year and I know they returned a lot from that team.

I'm interested in watching their game against WM next week. They've looked the part so far.

Live Oak was set to play a home and home with PBHS this week, but was told it was reduced to one game at PBHS on Friday by LO due to heavy schedule load and injuries

I will definitely try to make that one. Likely a lot of future ULL arms facing off.

Jesuits field is 5 minutes from its campus and very well layed out. The visitors are not at a disadvantage dug out wise and it’s an impressive stadium- harahans rec field although well maintained is not.
