It's known on here by many that I'm not a big Tiger fan, but I try to respect the greatness of his play.
But yeah, I probably won't like the today's results.

Sergio WAS NOT, NOT NOT in his backswing when Tiger selected the club
Why do marshals call for quiet as the player approaches the ball and not just as he's about to swing?

How many rounds on Tour has Tiger played? Do you not think that he knows the reaction of the gallery when he pulls a club to go for the par 5 green in two? Of course their going to cheer, and encourage him.
Now, I don't know if he did it on purpose. It could have easily been an honest mistake. Just pointing out that why Sergio has a legitimate complaint, if it was on purpose.
And are you saying the reaction is the EXACT same every time? Can Tiger ever pull a club out of his bag now? Do all tournaments with Tiger playing now have to separate holes by over 50 yds just so Tiger doesn't get a "competitive advantage" ?
This is dumb. I don't think Tiger needs to pull a stunt like this to win against of all people, Sergio "0 major wins" Garcia.
I think people just enjoy finding fault with Tiger because he's not like every other stiff out on the course.

TW was out of sight and out of mind.
In this particular instance, audible clapping is heard 2 seconds before Sergio even began the backswing. Why didn't sergio back off? Because it didn't bother him.
He tried to use the TV interview to get into TW's head.
The resurgence of TW's dominance has caught alot of players/people off guard. They're coming up with all kinds of BS and weekly controversies to either get him dq'd, penalized, or cloud his focus.

exactly. he hits a bad shot, then looks over because he has to find blame somewhere. that's sergio. love the guy, but he bitches far too much.

I agree with all of this except for the notion that Tiger might have pulled the club when he did on purpose. He didn't even look Sergio's way when he pulled the club, so how could he know Sergio was addressing the ball? Now, Tiger probably should've made the extra effort to see what Sergio was up to, but he was 50 yards away. I don't blame Sergio for being upset, but he handled this in almost the worst possible way.

Sergio is an excuse machine. He's full of shite
Posted on 5/12/13 at 10:25 am to medtiger
players hit during giant roars on the next hole all the time. at what point did someone farting 50 yards away become a distraction?
all golfers look for excuses to bad shots.
lee westwood was playing with his hand after his whiff for about 20 minutes. built in excuse for poor play.

This is my thought. He was blocked by a solid wall of people. Hitting outta the pine straw. Had a marshal tell him Sergio hit.
Nothing in the situation or even his body language seems to perpetuate the fact that Tiger did this on purpose or even could have done it on purpose.

Seems to be the norm for Garcia.

Golf existed but was boring as shite compared to the Tiger surge early 2000s. Tiger brought fire and swag to golf and put all the rich country club kids to shame.
So he brought the Happy Gilmore fans to Tournaments? I will pass. He is the biggest arse on tour and he completely ignores these fans that are drooling over him and yet some how golf cannot survive without him?
I loved it when he was out for 18 months and it forced the networks to actually do their jobs and try to promote the next wave of players. Everyone cannot be the next Jack, Arnie, Sneed or even Chi Chi so golf needs another round of players to step and be acknowledged.

So how happy is Lingmerth about the final pairing?
That is huge for him.

Absolutely. He gets to see TW in front of him and not have to contend with his gallery.
The only negative is who he's paired with. If he's smart, he should put him on ignore.

Yeah but when someone is tied with tiger, they arent really tied.
They ALWAYS put tigers name on top.

For the guys here under 25, it's hard to believe they've ever known the sport of golf without Tiger Woods.
