The R&A can’t be happy hearing the phrase ‘he’s just fine over there’ and “he’s found a nice trampled down spot’ being repeated over and over every time someone hits it in the rough. They almost always get great lies and are still spinning it.

Not sure what’s worse. Watching featured groups stand around for 10 minutes waiting to hit every shot because the pace of play is so bad, or watching main coverage with constant commercial interruptions and very little golf. It seems really bad this year, and I wonder if it’s the course. Hopefully things speed up tomorrow after the cut.

Not sure what they’re supposed to do with that. Weather dictates what the rough is going to be like. No rain means the rough is going to be wispy and way easier to play from.

The rough being a nothing burger isn’t their fault
Them overwatering the greens to where they are extremely receptive allowing guys to spin it from anywhere is 100% their fault

I know they can’t control the weather. I don’t know what they can do but surely their experts can figure out something, whether with it’s the greens or pin locations, but it is disappointing to watch.

Steve Sands saying Henrik is making a push to play the weekend when he’s +5 on the day is true Steve Sands stuff.

I mean he is technically pushing. But what he’s pushing may not be moving.

This pace of play is agonizing.
Featured groups yesterday averaged 5 hours 35 minutes

Yea watching on the Open championship website instead of youtube tv is brutal. only watching one group makes it even worse.
I really don't get Bryson hitting driver on #4. Very little good can come of that and his 3 iron would leave him 40 yards with a perfect angle.

He also earlier talked about how impressive Lucas Herbert’s 28 was considering the par 5s are both on the back 9…
Send him back to the American century championship please.

This broadcast as a whole is god awful. Seen more of Jordan speith at 2 over and Bryson than anyone else on this second wave.

Wow. Didn't get to watch earlier but saw he shot 62 but didn't see the 28. That's wild.

Terrible. I had to step away for a bit and turned on the XM broadcast and by golly it sounded like a golf tournament was going on. Shot after shot on the air, including several guys on the course right now that I haven’t seen once on TV yet.
I know the pace is slow but obviously that means guys are playing the holes ahead of the guys they’re choosing to follow. Why not show them?

Hope I’m wrong but I don’t see anyone in these afternoon games making a run at a low round today. It would be nice to see a guy or two we care get into the first page of leaderboard for tomorrow.
And right as I post Bobby Mac with an eagle on 17! I like it.

The Nubs Fitzpatrick has been playing great golf for the last 3-4 months in his own right.

Hattons three iron running 40 yards while in the fescue
Kind of wild how tame this rough is.

Panera going after the gay market apparently. That’s the gayest dude I’ve ever seen on a fast food commercial.
