The fairway width is deceiving on some of these holes. Several of them have such a sideways tilt on the fairways that you have to have them that wide or every shot that lands in the center of the fairway would roll into the rough on the downhill side of the slope.

What a failure by the USGA picking this site and allowing this to happen. Only 4,500 regular golf patrons are able to attend daily.

quote:

the daily attendance figure at LACC is roughly 23,000. For context, last year’s U.S. Open at The Country Club in Brookline hovered around 40,000 on the weekend, with a more spacious site—think Oakmont, which last hosted in 2016—having the ability to host up to 50,000 fans per day.

quote:

Moreover, out of the 23,000, close to 14,000 are allotted for suites and hospitality tents, meaning just 9,000 tickets classify as general admission. Out of the 9,000, it’s believed just half were allotted to the general public, as LACC gobbled up somewhere in the range of 4,000 to 4,500 of those tickets. (A persistent claim leading up to the championship was that LACC attempted to buy all of the tickets. A USGA official would not comment on the matter.)

Talk about the USGA growing the game and not making it so exclusive

Between me manning the grill drinking mezcals in the Louisiana sun all day for dads day, my son wearing his lsu jersey pretending to be Dylan crews, and Rory and Rickie in contention, there is a chance for some absolute fireworks from me tonight on this website. I’m hitting on every single cylinder.

Could be an all time performance the likes we haven’t seen from someone from Louisiana since Willis Reed in 1970

I don’t think anything will ever top Net melting over Americans rooting for Sergio at the Masters.

Rory in contention makes thinks spicy. For whatever reason, the board seems split on its opinion of him. Rickie in the mix is just a cherry on top.

Yeah I’ve been pretty disgusted with LACC members. And they don’t give one frick about that and rightfully so.

But I’d never return to this place just to spite them. And they probably also dgaf about that

Good lord your takes are horrendous about everything.

Do you casuals not even realize that the cameras used for these events can make it look pretty damn bright outside even if it was pitch black?

Why exactly are you so amped up about Clark saying the tee times were too late and darkness played a factor late?

Did you bet him to miss the cut or something?

Oh my gosh. That ball in the divot…

If something like that happens to one of the last two groups I can only imagine.

I heard multiple media members as well talk about how dark it was in the last group. I don’t think it really impacted Wyndham’s score with him playing the last two even par, but it probably made it more difficult for Rickie to read that last green.

LA must be the only place that is super dark at sunset. Weird

Mark sunset at your location. Go outside during it. Tell me how dark it actually looks

I do understand this

I’m not amped up. Why are you ignoring Rickie wearing sunglasses? Why are you ignoring Clark’s horrendous approach into the 17th? Are you blaming that swing on the time of day?

This is the only fanduel team I made and I don’t gamble(the traditional way) on sports.
