Sunset in LA was at 9:15 local time. They finished their round at 8:15. How could it be that dark? I’m not buying that shite

I don't know why. It was obviously dark on my TV and we know that cameras make even that appear much lighter than it actually is. Big hurry to call the last group liars.

The odds moved around a bit last night. I'm seeing Rory +210, Rickie +260, Clark +300, Scottie +400, Schauffele/DJ +3500, English +4000, and everybody else +13000 or more.

Dude we’ve seen it infinitely darker for finishes out there. C’mon.

He had a point about starting earlier because they easily could and if they go to extra holes it might start getting difficult.

But he didn’t bogey 17 because it was too dark to see while Rickie is wearing shades

You can die on any hill you like. And you've been known to die on a lot of them. I couldn't care less. What the guys say about the condition wasn't refuted by ESPN or anyone else that was quoting Clark. And you tell me how it really was is just another YOU problem.

Nor does it change the fact that this course is just too wide and frankly too birdie friendly for what they were trying to define as a US Open venue.

It didn’t look nearly as dark on my tv as other golf tournaments. Not even close to how dark it was at the PGA the year Rory held off Phil and Rickie for example

Clarke wasn't. And he was the one quoted Einstein.

That's because you're clairvoyant. He should check with you before he does his next national interview.

and the fact you can't put many on this property keeps this pace from any real rowdiness at all.

I consider that to be a positive!

Who wants a bunch of drunks running all over the course making fools of themselves?

I'm sure the members of LACC feel the same way.

In the meantime, the US Open venue moves on. Thankfully.

But if you don’t make the fairway the course does make you pay.. those green side bunkers are lethal.

Here are the pins for today. Looks like they are hiding them in the corners.

He shanked his second shot into an unplayable area because he couldn't see? What an obvious lie and loser quote.

And 4 times, ever. This course isn't scaring anyone and it doesn't make me think that you can't go low if you play smart golf on the back 9. There have been 2 62s and Tom Kim shot 29 on the front yesterday. Birdies are there and that's not what normally comes to mind on a Sunday US Open. We've seen 3 Aces on one hole.

The late-night stuff was the biggest problem for the leaders yesterday on the back 9.

Clark said. "I would say right around hole 15 or 16 it started getting to where you couldn't see that well. We played twilight golf."

Clark said his bogey on the 17th was "100 percent" because he couldn't see, and he said Fowler's on No. 18 was "because he couldn't see." Clark said he couldn't see his putts on the last two holes, and that he and Fowler "just played off of feel."

Rickie wearing sunglasses didn't help but LA has gone out of its way in being ridiculous in other ways than putting a US Open course on edge.

First off if the equipment of today had been around for the last hundred years it would be a lot more than four times ever. You aren't going to get Winged Foot Massacres at the U.S. Open now unless it is incrediwindy all four days. Kim also shot 37 on the back nine. You've had one day where the field beat the course and two days where the course beat the field.

Clark is full of shite. His bogey on 17 was because he hit a suck second shot. He and his caddie have been there six days. You want me to believe he bogeyed 17 because he couldn't see a penalty area on a hole he has played at least five times this week? The USGA didn't create that penalty area overnight. It has been there every time he has played that hole this week. If he hadn't noticed it before now that is on him and his caddie. If he had noticed it that is on his lousy swing on his second shot.

Other than 9 and 11 those pins don't look all that intimidating. I'm sure there is trouble if you short side yourself with a miss but practially all of them have a huge chunk of green on one side or the other that you can use to work a shot from the fairway into. But you will need to be able to both cut and draw your shot.
