Fowler is 8th in Strokes gained on approach shots, Matsuyama is first by almost a whole stroke over Fowler. Strokes gained putting Fowler is 2nd at 3.17 , meanwhile Matsuyama is at -2.24. So he is losing 5 shots per round to Fowler. Fowler is -10 while Matsuyama is +1, that is how big a difference a hot putter makes.

Rickie only has 5 PGA Tour wins I think. He had two a couple good major seasons which is very difficult but as an actual winner he gets more credit than he deserves.
I’d love to see him get it done this week but he hasn’t been in this position in a long time for any tournament.
