Shot clock should be shorter than 40 seconds

No one has been able to explain who asked for this? They have a hard enough time getting viewers for regular golf.

Then they added this monstrosity with a bunch of new rules and expect people to tune in every week. People will watch Tiger play one time and the rest of the time they'll be lucky to get a million viewers on.

I like it so far. But I've only watched a few holes.

More like watching them play on a golden tee good course.

I'm enjoying this more than watching the NBA, so at least there's that.

My 8 year old has watched more of this than regular golf. That's a win for me.

I thought this was something they could take on tour to different arenas

Do they get paid for winning a match?

They didnt seem to care at all and put very little time into shots

My wife and I watched it for a few minutes. To the hardcore golf fans who watch every weekend, I hate to break it to you, but you aren’t the target audience for this. The comment from someone in this thread that said “Moving too fast” made me chuckle. That’s literally the common persons biggest beef with golf. The shot clock was a great add to keep the pace moving. My wife thinks golf is the most boring thing on the planet but said she enjoyed watching this.

Golf has to pivot to survive with younger Millenials, Gen Z, Gen A and soon to be Gen B. They are trying something new and I applaud their efforts here. This was creative and entertaining.

The key will be whether it is sustainable or not. Does it have staying power is it a novelty that gets old after the first few nights?

My wife actually thought it was cool. I was shocked when I put golf on and could see her looking up from her tablet to watch. The only other time my wife has shown any interest in golf is when we get tickets to the zurich.

After sleeping on it I realized I stayed up to watch the entire thing myself. It’s not my brand of golf but for a Tuesday night it’s not half bad.

Especially for golf's off season it's not bad for some Monday or Tuesday night fun when not much is on.

There is no real off season on the PGA tour.

was pretty cool how they have the actual fairway, rough and sand surfaces for them to hit off of.
They should add in the tiger woods video game heartbeat effect for when a player hits a good shot. The machine has to know if its going to end up close

The golfers seemed to enjoy it, to me that adds to the appeal of hearing the off-cuff conversations. This league's viability is going to depend on how popular this is with the other pro golfers.

If more golfers get excited about it and want to compete, that'll draw more people in. Maybe they could have Korn Ferry Tour guys on, or some golf influencers to shake things up.

I liked it, I think it's clearly marketed towards a younger demographic. It's not supposed to replace real golf, we still have that Thusdays-Sundays.

The winter months are as close as it gets

Hence why it’s called the “silly season”

It’s very similar to watching YouTube Golf. If you like that you probably enjoyed it, if you don’t like that, you probably won’t like this, But I enjoyed it

It was exactly what they said it was going to be. They hit real golf shots into a bunch of technology, it was a fast, fun, not so serious version of golf.

I think people just like to bash anything that is new, if you didn’t like this, then I don’t think you were ever going to like it because it was exactly what they promised it was going to be.

They’ll clean up some of the little things as they go, and if the match was actually close, it would’ve been a lot more entertaining, but it’s not like the league can control that.

I like seeing some of the players personalities come out hopefully they will give us more of their chatter next time and less announcer.

It’s not to be taken as seriously as a real golf tournament and if you tuned it wanting to treat it like that you were probably annoyed.

This will be one of the biggest failures in sports entertainment history. They're so far in the hole on this venture, there's no shot of ever climbing out. They built an entire building that was destroyed and had to be rebuilt. All the tech isn't cheap. It doesn't make any sense.

First off, the 15 minutes I watched was incredible awful. Everything about it was bad.

That being said, as far as the cost goes, have you ever heard of insurance? They 100000% had insurance on the place and everything that was damaged by the storm was going to be covered by insurance. They didn't pay double for everything.

I don't why there is a small delay when the ball hits the screen. I own a simulator club with Full Swing Simulator and there is zero delay. Maybe it is a deferent tech because of the large screen...

Kinda feels like the first week of the XFL. People tuned in to see the novelty of it. The players don't seem to care so I don't know why I should either.
