The old Arlington park was a beautiful ball park.

yep, started going to see the Rangers there when they first came down from DC, back in the old days we'd buy the cheapest seats available and by the 5th-6th inning we'd be field level right by the dugouts, Rangers were horrible but we were baseball junkies

I’ve been to both parks beer and food are expensive regardless of what mlb stadium you go to. The old park was nice but hot as hell during the summer. The new park does open the roof at times early in the season when the weather is cooler but it’s Texas it’s hot most of the season. I do like the large concourse areas which make it nice for moving around and after close game with a large crowd you are not shoulder to shoulder leaving the game.

$11 beer than turned into $14.75 after the service charge and tax.

Was it at least in a rainbow pride month collectible cup?

Have you not attended a sporting event in two decades or something?

you clearly havent been to a baseball game in a while. 14.75 for a beer isn't even crazy at a professional sporting event.

the Rangers claimed they were losing out on free agents that didn’t want to play in that kind of heat.

Bull. shite.

I’d love to see proof of this.

Which is owned now by the Chalktaws , it’s much larger than the new one.

I think the capacities are somewhat similar.

They had to do something because nobody was attending games in July and August. Too damn hot! I'm sure they looked at adding a roof to the old stadium and it wasn't feasible.

I feel like the weather in that area sucks arse. Brutal summers, tornados, and ice storms in the winter. Everyone talks shite about Charleston weather but I love it year round.

I get it was hot as balls but it’s baseball what do you want?

The turf would get above 140 degrees

Imagine being an outfielder and having to stand on that shite all afternoon, or a catcher.

Cry as you might, they need controlled air, it's 2026 frick that hot shite.

It is not uncommon for the month of August to be around 101 daily

They just have the naming rights, City of Arlington still owns it and it's managed by a Rangers affiliated group. They have lower level baseball and football games in it.

First, it's hot as hell here, nobody wants to sit in the sun and bake for 9 innings. The prices for beers and food are high at all stadiums if you didn't notice. Complaining about women cheerleaders, maybe you don't like women. I find them very satisfying. Lastly, the dome is retractable. Ya'll always complaining like mitches....

I went last year and enjoyed it. I don’t remember if I made the last stadium or if it was the stadium before but I’ve been to two of them.

They had to do something though, those afternoon games in august were absolutely brutal.

No they didn’t. It gets hot in the summer in Texas, who knew?!
