My kids go to Smithson Valley. They may win tonight, but they will be buttfricked by an Austin team at some point.

That is if they don't get taken out by Corpus Christi Calallen.

This Calallen team doesn’t seem as strong as some squads they’ve had in the past. Their calling card come playoff time has usually been defense. They have created some great schemes to neutralize high powered offenses like Aledo and Fort Bend Marshall. I’m curious if they have that in them this year.

Smithsonian Valley will be 5A D1 next year.

Austin LBJ is also opting up to 5A D2 next year.

Some good first round games tonight:

5A D2 - Royse City v Frisco
6A D2 - Bryan v Cedar Hill
5A D1 - Lubbock Cooper v Colleyville Heritage
6A D1 - #17 Allen v Hebron
6A D1 - Lake Highlands v South Grand Prairie
6A D2 - Flower Mound (UF commit at QB) v #9 Denton Guyer
6A D2 - Flower Mound Marcus v Prosper
6A D1 - Lewisville v McKinney Boyd
6A D1 - #8 Spring v #18 The Woodlands

Im biased towards the larger classifications and the DFW area, so im sure there are a number of other great matchups tonight/tomorrow.

Yep. Cy-Park was the team that was going to challenge Rockwall-Heath in the region.

Woodlands and Spring play in the first round. Should be a hell of a game

My kid plays tonight. Bridgeland. They’re 8-2 but the only reason they lost those two was Connor weigman was hurt. Otherwise they’re 10-0. They played a pretty stout non district slate. Woodlands, Klein cane, and shadow creek

They should have won but they only beat Bridgeland because weigman wasn’t there and they lost to Cy woods who isn’t that great

They had zero chance against Rockwell heath

Lost to Highland Park and Rockwall Heath

The Heath/Rockwall game was insane. 77-71 in 2OT (I think, I know there was at least 1OT) after Rockwall had hit a Hail Mary to tie it at the end of regulation. I watched the live stream and it was one of the best HS games I’ve ever seen.

What part of Rockwall do y’all live? I have some good buddies that way. We always meet up downtown at Bin 303 or Zanata

Will be at the Katy / Clements game tonight.

I dont know if Katy has enough to pull of a 10th State Championship this year, but it's a team you don't want to bet against once the playoffs start.

Yeah.

Comal ISD has opened two new high schools, Davenport and Pieper, in the last 16 months. Smithson Valley's student population is taking a hit because of it.

It is nice up here.

We took the boat to Canyon Lake several times over the Summer and I swear the water is as emerald green as it is in Destin.

I'm retiring in about 5 years and I'm thinking about buying a place on the water.

I think this last round. Central Texas is growing like a weed. And they have one of the coolest mascots in the state (the hippo).

Rockwall Heath sort of sleep walks to a 35-6 win over Garland Naaman Forest.

4A D1 - Chapel Hill upsets #10 Vidor 25-20

6A D2 - Bridgeland and Connor Weigman sneak by Klein Collins 34-33.

5A D2 - Barbers Hill stuns unbeaten #2 Fort Bend Marshall 42-21.
