A bit of a commuter school in an average college town. Ok campus, but football stadium is on the far edge across some railroad tracks.

They blew a 38-8 lead to Marshall in the 2001 GMAC Bowl and lost 64-61 in 2OT

I have literally cheered for LSU vs my alma mater in my alma maters student section. Wasn’t fortunate enough to get LSU in-state (not worth the out of state tag) and in State was paid for. Talk about a lot of funny looks walking into class.

I went to ECU, but been an LSU fan my entire life. Just the way my Dad raised me because he went to LSU. Been a season ticket holder for LSU since 2003.

First game I ever went to with my Dad and brother was Bama 2000. Sat in the very last row of the East Upper.

Yeah I did the same thing.

I like living in Texas, don’t like living in Louisiana, so I graduated from Texas State.

I grew up on LSU football. I joined the Army when I was 18, started going to Texas State when I was 27, so I couldn’t just throw 20 seasons of watching LSU football away.

I remember one year where they started off the season with back to back wins against VT and WVU (back when Pat White was still there no less). Everyone was hyped for the rest of their season but they turned out to be a meh season in the end, but those first two games were fun. I remember ECU fans rushing the field after the WVU win. After the game Skip Holtz was doing the post game interview on the field and all of the fans behind him were trying to rush to him and there was this one security guard/cop trying to hold a mob of fans back and hilariously failed and almost got trampled. I tried searching for a gif or video of that because it was really funny to see but alas I can't find it but I'll never forget it.

I remember our games against them when we were both in C-USA. Loyal fanbase. Their first ever Conference USA Basketball win was against Louisville back in 2002.

Sandra Bullock went to college there.

Party school.

Sort of Georgia Southern of North Carolina.

They have beaten UNC and NC St on the field.

Par Dye coached there.
