Oops, I thought that was in Kansas. The best all-around head to head win for that conference IMO was BU @ OU, but you could lose a lot of scratch betting on BXII games this year. After Norman, I hope BU wins out & KSU/TCU drop another so it's a clear choice.

A close win against Kansas is about the same as needing a last second FG to go to overtime against LSU.

Also, they didn't tell you TCU was better than bama, they told you they had a better resume which is exactly what it should be about.

Do they still after today? Probably not and I'm sure the committee will reflect that.

You morons advocating for computers are a special breed of stupid.

Computers are more objective than humans. This is a fact.

November SHOULD mean more than October or September

frick no! Absolutely not. That's what they should be trying to get away from. The entire body of work matters, so the entire regular season matters. A game on August 28th matters as much as one on November 28th. It should reward the team that brings it every week, the team that has the best regular season.

Because college basketball has the most meaningless regular season in the history of all sports(save for LA high school football this year, apparently). Literally, no individual game means anything. At all. College football is the greatest sport of all time because of the importance of the regular season, the living or dying by every single game. I was skeptical, but it seems the extra 2 teams hasn't done much to dilute it. Let's not press our luck.

Computers only compute what data humans put into them. Humans that know jack shite about football. Computers also are incapable of using common sense. Look at some of the computer rankings over the years. They are beyond laughable.

I just disagree here. Teams have injuries, ups and downs throughout a season, and get better/worse. In September, A&M was the best team in CFB. That shouldn't count as a top 10 win now should it?

Bottom line, they won and took care of business.

Alabama struggled vs Arkansas aND was praised for it.

Tcu stays in the top 4

This. "Weighting" one part of the season over another is just asinine. Why some people think that's okay or even preferable is mind blowing.

we aren't picking who gets in based on over-valuing september

that's EXACTLY why we shouldn't over-value any month, including the last

I think TCU would win also. I barely think Bama is a top 10 team.

rather obvious ...

I am no SEC fan, but I hope they put 3 in. All this "power conference" stuff is a bunch of malarkey. There is one power conference. The rest are conferences named "power conferences" filled mostly with mid major programs.

Yeah, all the fans hoping for early season forgiveness are quite silly.

The committee starts from scratch each week. As such, early season losses are just as significant as late season losses (as they should be).

The committee is actually doing this right... so far, at least

Wins vs Ranked Teams (when game was played) Week 7 [Oct 11] to present:

Ws...............(Best Win and Date)

3 - Alabama (#1 Moo State Nov15)
3 - TCU (#7 K State Nov8)

2 - Baylor (#9 TCU Oct11)
2 - Florida State (#5 ND Oct18)
2 - Ohio State (@ #8 Michigan St Nov8)
2 - Oregon (@ #17 Utah Nov8)

1 - Mississipi State (#2 Auburn Oct11)

ETA:

What does it all mean? Who knows.

I just thought it was interesting.

Note that
-- Only 2 teams had their "best recent win" on the road.
-- Oregon and Ohio State notched both their ranked wins on the road. Oregon vs #17 & #18, Ohio state vs #8 & #25
-- TCU, Baylor and Florida State notched a ranked win on the road in 4 quarters of play. Alabama needed OT in their ranked road win.
