thats a pretty weak arse excuse for talking about stuff that anyone with a brain would know the national news would pick up and run with.

again, they should all be smart enough to be quiet right now. Why is this so difficult for them?

Damn if that's true Mizzou and TAMU did the Big 12 a BIG favor. Talk about some good TV contracts.

Is there any chance MSU, Vandy, and Auburn opt out of the SEC?

buh bye ACC

The ACC is not going anywhere. Their status a football conference will decline, but it's not very high to begin with. If they lose a couple of teams, they will likely add Rutgers and UConn.

The Big East is who will be screwed in this process. They will soon be a basketball only conference.

What will Notre Dame do?

Notre Dame has their pick of the litter. either go be an equal member in PAC 12 or B1G or go run the ACC with an iron fist. or go to the Big 12 and be Texas' queen

and adding

Rutgers and UConn.

would give them 7 former BE members. If they were serious about football and being a player they would have added WVU and still would have kept their basketball at the level it is at

The commissioner of the ACC is horrible and has made some bitch moves, but the core of the ACC will not leave, with the possible exception of Clemson. They will always be a strong basketball conference and a weak football conference.

Florida State and Miami have never emotionally been part of the ACC.

The should have gotten off of their academic high horse and added West Virginia and Louisville. They can still add Louisville, and/or UConn and Rutgers, with an outside chance of Notre Dame.

SCH, you mad bro. You're mad WVU got rejected from the very conference you left.

And now you're stuck with the suck-UT-penis conference and having to travel 900+ miles (the closest school is what...Iowa St? Have fun playing in that one.

I still believe that the BIG12 isn't that stable, and I don't think the ACC is that unstable. I am not worried.

Swofford could stabilize the ACC, but he's the worst conference commissioner in history.

What are you talking about? Swofford DID stabilize the ACC last year when he made the first move of picking up Syracuse and Pitt. Also making the moves to increase the exit fees to $20M. Before then, people were talking about raiding the ACC just like they are now, but that move quieted that down quite a bit. He also used that to leverage a bigger TV deal. Yes, the delta is still there, but it's better than the previous delta. The results of the Pitt/Syracuse additions have not been factored in and those can be used to renogotiate 5 years from now with the 5 year 'look-ins' to the contract. Also, he did not negotiate with ESPN for the current contract. The ACC used the same consulatants that all the conferences use, and they just couldn't get a better deal. So be it. How can he help that the FSU cry babies aren't happy?

If the Big 12 has a realistic chance of adding Fla. State, Miami, Clemson, then why did they add TCU & West Virginia? Shouldn't they have added those teams last year and save a bunch of money?

The ACC will survice, no doubt. But if Clemson and FSU leave, it will be much weaker. He needs to shore up football and should have added West Virginia.

WVU doesn't match the profile of the existing ACC member schools. It's the same reason the PAC would not take OU, TT, etc. Of course it would make sense FOOTBALL-WISE to bring in Texas and OU...but obviously there's more to it than that. Otherwise, Swofford and Larry Scott would have done things differently.

Just like if the B1G decides to move on a school, they are not going to take just any school willy-nilly...even if they are a great football power. The school will likely have to be AAU status (high academic profile), and will have to be located somewhere close geographically...along with having decent football/basketball success.

Agreed you are in a better conference with better teams that the Big East. That's without a doubt. But you and I both know that the ACC today is nothing like the Big East of today. The ACC is much better off and in a stronger position.

Sure, we have a few former Big East schools. So what? That's a far cry from being the new "Big East" you so often spout. The core of the ACC is Duke/UNC/UVA/Maryland/WF/NC State/GT. That will be difficult to change.
