Survivor League rulings on the tie game in the NFL....

How do leagues handle this? My gut first reaction would be that a tie game would eliminate any player that picked either team...since the team they picked did not "win" the game.
The Tigerdroppings.com Survivor rules state the following:
That is somewhat vague and doesn't take ties into account.
So what is the verdict? One player picked SF this week...
As for the Tigerdroppings.com survivor pool, 23 entered the week....3 are dead, 6 have advanced, 13 are waiting for Pittsburgh to beat KC tonight, and the 1 person picked SF.
The Tigerdroppings.com Survivor rules state the following:
quote:
Rules: Each week, pick one team that you think will win its game. If that team wins, you continue to the next round. If that team loses, you are out of the contest. You cannot pick the same team more than once.

Since a tie is technically a half win and a half loss I think they should be able to advance.

But you need a full win to advance....

Make the guys who picked the tie have to get 2 correct next week, it's only fair.

I think that person is out. You are picking a team to win, you aren't picking a team not to lose.

99.9999% of survivor pools grade ties as losses. MT @The_Zer What happens in a survivor pool in the case on a tie?

Survivor football you must pick a winning team. A tie is not a win, therefore you did not pick a winning team.

Should be out. You pick winners. Neither team won

In the league I run, if you pick a team that ties, you are out of the pool. You have to win to advance and a tie is not a win. It is stated up front in the rules before the season starts.

You pick a team not to lose. A tie is not a loss! Aha!

A lawyer would have a field day with this! I bet the rules are modified next time around.

It's obvious.
SF did not win, therefore the player cannot move to the next round.
SF did not lose, therefore the player is still in the contest.
Therefore, the player is stuck in last week's round.

I just checked the league I'm in and in the rules it states that ties move on.

I think that is crap. I believe the spirit of a survivor contest is that you are picking winners, not "non-losers". Sounds like you are in a league with a bunch of liberal Democrats
