McNesse and Tarelton are probably better than ULM/NLU.
Tarleton was a D2 school three years ago. They have been artificially inflating the hell out of their attendance as well. 3/4 of their stadium was empty for a "sold out " 17000 person crowd against mcneese. As soon as they had to have it officially counted by the NCAA in the playoffs the number dropped to 3000
Mcneese's fans are actually pretty loyal I don't think they have the overall funding to make it work
On a side note they have the worst campus in Louisiana

The Belt should add LA Tech and kick out ULM. ULM brings nothing to the table. ULM needs to go back to the Southland.
Hey! Don't disparage the world famous Fightin' Rednecks of ULM like that.

I think you guys are discounting how good ULM softball is.

As someone who lives in the PNW I’ve mentioned a handful of times here it’s such a terrible idea. Oregon state shockingly has a loyal base but people on the West Coast generally don’t give a shite.
It feels very “Tech joins the WAC”. Their programs are going to struggle traveling so much. This is a big win for the Western programs and loss for them.

Never go west in sports.
Most of them don't care about them over there

I generally agree. Especially in California unfortunately. But nobody can deny that Oregon and Washington are both big football states.
Oregon and Oregon State have great fan bases as does Washington and Wazzu.
California only supports their teams when they’re winning. In USC’s heyday they moved the needle like any other big brand. Hell look at Cal last year when Miami came to town for college gameday. Berkeley was packed for college gameday and for the game itself. Then there’s UCLA. When they were relevant they definitely had support and even when LSU came to town they packed out the rose bowl to watch them upset LSU.
All that said, west coast loves football only if they are being given a good product. Maybe that changes with the Big10 merger? Perhaps getting names like Ohio State playing at USC will help awaken them.

Have you ever been out west? Hiking, outdoor activities, National Parks, beaches, way more going on than football.

We’re talking west coast here. You can’t seriously try to claim that 51.6 million people are too busy hiking to care about CFB. They sure care about NFL MLB and NBA.
That excuse is total bullshite. People try to say the same for Miami. CFB is played one day a week. Much less of a commitment than a camping trip to a NP.
Also it implies that there’s nothing to do in the south as if we don’t have anything to do outside of CFB. Last I checked the beaches in Florida & Alabama are a hell of a lot nicer than the west coast.

Its hard to sit down for 4 hours to watch football with all there is to do on a nice Saturday out west. Also, sorry but the fact is life out west beats life in the south, just more going on. The best fans in any sport are those that have little else to do but live and die with their team.

Lmao “fact”. Ok pal. By that logic it’s also a fact that LSU is better than the rest of the SEC at everything. It’s a fact of life.

Unfortunately sums up a lot of Louisiana.

The CFB version of shaking away your masterpiece on the etch-a-sketch.
Coaching changes + NIL + Transfer Portal. It's a 100% hard reset on your program. It will be immensely more challenging moving forward to sustain a winning tradition at the G5 level.
