No idea what's going on and can't explain it just, go ahead and flip over. I'm going to watch it for a few minutes.

I felt like I was watching a lost episode of Cheap Seats, only without the Sklar brothers making fun of it.

And there's going to be more spikeball from Coney Island on ESPN2 for the 4th of July.

I watched about 10 minutes of a “match” the other day, mesmerized mainly that not only does this sport exist, but it’s popular enough for a “professional” league and to be televised on ESPN. It reminded me of something you’d catch on 80s ESPN, when they were desperate for content to fill their non-Sportscenter hours.

As for the sport, it seems like some weird hodgepodge of ping pong, volleyball, four square, and hackey-sack. It looks pretty fun, actually, and like something my younger, more spry self would have enjoyed. And makes for better tv than Cornhole. At least the one ESPN is willing to show.

This game appears similar to a ball game that the Romans used to play. Throw a ball into the center, catch it before it lands outside of a circle, repeat. Interesting.

I have no interest in watching spike ball on tv. But this game is fricking awesome to play. Really addicting.

It's not even that complicated. It's volleyball but you hit the net instead of hitting it over. Each team gets 3 hits before it has to hit the net. Then the next team goes until the ball hits the ground. There are a few more rules, but that's essentially it. It's a lot of fun to play at the beach. Although, I doubt I'd spend much time watching it.

They had corn hole on the other day. I watched it for over an hour. I felt bad about myself after.

spikeball is really really fun, when players aren't very good. The rally's go for a long time, and it gets pretty exciting. But as players get better, rally's dont last very long, and as a spectator, that sucks.

Was gonna say the same thing. I saw it there as well, and remember them talking about having leagues and championships and stuff.

I watched it for a little bit, and it was boring. And honestly I felt like I would much rather watch men play it as it would be more competitive and interesting. Pretty much every single point went like this: serve, bump/set/spike for the point. Rinse and repeat. I feel like men would have longer rallies.
