There's been good teams of course but none of them have even close to that level.
well, to be fair, that team is sort of the demarcation line for when the rest of the world really woke up to basketball, and other countries started taking it serious and developing leagues, players, teams, etc...
in '92, the level of competition was must lower than it is now, and the level of overall talent on our squad is less, so naturally there is going to be a regression to the mean

lol this team would wax the 92 team
Their knees must be totally shot, so I suppose you’re onto something there

Umm no

This US team will be lucky to get to the gold medal game. They have zero chemistry and zero heart. And with the officials always against the U.S. that will come into play and the attitudes will come out.

They are called the avengers. South Sudan would beat the dream tram.

From these younger players? I wouldn't be surprised.

I think the current players of the 92 dream team could beat South Sudan. What a fricking joke these guys are. No fricking heart.

That team is getting waxed. Poor Chuck Daly wouldn't know what to do against a combo of Lebron and Steph. Don't even think they would need KD, he can continue resting his calf.

A lot of South Sudans team grew up in the US and Australia and play in professional leagues in Australia, China, and Europe with one in the G League
Luol Deng runs their federation. He deserves a lot of credit

South Sudan would've won Silver in 92

Not exactly
It’s a spectrum, their intelligence is really OCD type behavior for a single subject

Barkley, MJ, washed up Bird/Magic etc would easily lose by 10+ to this current squad. What are we even talking about here?

They weren’t a country in 92, but you knew that and you are just comparing players from today’s team to the players in the 92 Olympics.

There are numerous reasons this team would not beat 1992.
First and most importantly, Michael wouldn't allow it. Magic wouldn't allow it. Barkley, Pippen, Malone, Bird, etc. wouldn't allow it.
What the under 35s don't understand is back then, ALL the players were tough physically and mentally. Today, less than half are tough enough to play with the 92 guys.
1992 would beat this team in a 7 game series more often than not.

You do have to hand it to LeBron. Even at his age he’s probably still the best player in the world right now.

Lucky they didn't play North Sudan
