Meanwhile, #23 last year would have been Iowa.
you’re just reinforcing that nobody would want to watch this shite

You mean the same middle tier power programs that wouldn't have made the 12 team CFP field because they got beat 3+ times against other teams within their power conferences?

And I just brought up how many 1st and 2nd round blowouts are already happening in the 12 team CFP and you responded that 3 of those were G5 teams that got blown out on the road. WTF do you think having more small schools is going to do? Its just more small schools that will be playing playoff games on the road against high ranked P4 teams and getting blown out. You're contradicting yourself

With conference championships games eliminated we would have had some of the following matchups

North Texas at Alabama bama would have been 30 point favorites

Houston at Miami

Tulane at Texas

Why do we need to see any of those? For the big schools, if you wanted to make the playoff, don’t lose games to teams you aren’t supposed to lose to. For the small schools, they have no shot and it’s quite literally a waste of time

JMU would have played Alabama and probably would have given that turd of a squad a game. Oregon would have kicked the shite out of Alabama too. They were soft as baby shite

Iowa would have played Miami. And they’d have played a low a scoring defensive dogfight just like they did with Indiana and Oregon.

You are using the rankings from after conference championship games that will no longer exist. Try again

Goal one was always to win your conference and see where the chips lay.

The two team BCS format was objectively the worst post season in sports. It wasn't cool or unique it was just dumb. It gave us the LSU vs USC controversy, the shut out of an undefeated Auburn, the lackluster ending of a crazy 2007 season.

The perfect format would have been 16 with the first two round being campus games. And auto bids for the four highest ranked conference champs putting more emphasis on conference championship games.

I personally think 24 is a bit too much but I'm also not getting on a soapbox and pretending like this is the death of FBS. This dumb shite gets said every time there's a change and every time it's proven wrong

it would’ve been a close game

Both those teams were terrible last year and not playoff quality

Further examples of why expansion sucks as the playoffs already tooo big

north Texas could have given that bama team a game too. Look what their core roster is doing at Okie Lite right now. You act like bama was anybody last year. Indiana absolutely humiliated and bullied them after their pillow fight with OU.

I can't wait to hear the arguments on College Football Final on the Saturday night after Thanksgiving: "Look! Illinois is 8-4 and has wins over 7-5 Kent State and 5-7 Akron. That makes their resume slightly better than 8-4 Mississippi State, who beat a 6-6 UL-Monroe team and a 4-8 Southern Miss squad. Therefore, the Fighting Illini deserve the final slot in the 24-team playoff!" "But Mississippi State plays in the SEC!" "They lost to a 3-9 Vanderbilt squad, Dave!" "And Illinois lost to 2-10 Rutgers!"

This is a preposterous statement. There is no way in hell ULM is getting to 6 wins.

Move to 24 balances the byes, makes up for all these mega league scheduling imbalances, and gives middle tier power programs and small schools a punchers chance on the big stage. .

The hell are you talking about?

ONE G6 team is getting a bid. That's it. ESPN will never let them put a second one in.

Middle tier teams will be fricked too. If the choice comes down to 9-3 Wake Forest and 9-3 Michigan who do you think they are taking every single time? I'll give you a hint. It's not the team w/the small fan base.

Regular season rating are about to go into the shitter. Does that matter in terms of the SEC/ABC contracts? Or the Big Ten TV contracts? Asking because I truly have no idea.

Nothing is the death knell… until it is.

And this seriously degrades the product. It’s not like no one is going to watch, but contraction can be the snowball that can’t be stopped

Sure thing. Oregon and Bama had a common opponent with a vastly different outcome. And Oregon crushed JMU and Tech. Didn’t belong. Derp.
