I see Jay and his bitch Rory are back in the news today. Pathetic.

Because the goal of LIV, and now the goal of the PGA, is to put more money in the top guys hands. This has never been about the guys fighting for their card or to stay afloat. Sorry if you thought it was
So the solution is to cut the field? That is nonsensical. If you want to award the top guys make the purses more top heavy.
Clearly this is an attempt to sway public opinion. It will backfire, in my opinion

You’d think McElroy would be happy the top players are leaving. Makes it easier for him to win since he can’t eat the best on the pga tour.

Rory
He's always gotten too much credit for being a mental midget that gets spun into being "profound" but this scene has been especially tough for him.
He seems like a nice guy, but he just doesn't have the killer instinct

Does the Korn ferry still get the 25 in. Does the Korn ferry playoffs still get the top 25 in?

Not anyone that has been paying attention
I’m surprised. I think it is an awful decision. They committed to the 8 big purse tourneys. No reason to have smaller fields in the others.

Not at all. Purses remain the same. Just more top heavy. And the 8 tour ones for the top guys. Smaller fields is a bad move in my opinion.

The 70 players who qualify for the first Playoffs event will be fully exempt for the following season, including invitationals. Anyone outside that cutoff can improve his status in the fall events, at the conclusion of which the top 125 will be fully exempt for the following season
Whew. Crisis averted.

Rory is ranked higher than every single player that has left for LIV so…….

Winning the old Ranking Trophy, I guess.

He won the Canadian Open 2 weeks ago.

OK so the world in general is subsidizing the golf players salaries via oil market manipulation by OPEC

Why wouldn’t someone that consistently finishes 100-150 bolt? Korn ferry making 100k or LIV making 150k to finish last 8 times a year?
Just how many spots do you think exist for players in the LIV events?

A good point. Right now it’s 48 spots for 8 tourneys. If it grows, who knows? But I made that comment when I thought the fields in PGA would be reduced and the fully exempt cards were decreasing to 70. That is not the case.

After, ahem.......salary expenses
He makes the least money of any commissioner in any league in the US, but as a percentage of revenue he is the 2nd highest paid behind Gooddell. Anyone acting like Monahan's pay and possibly employment isn't affected by this are insane

lsupride87 still avoiding this question. SAD!

This is definitely true.
A rising tide of Saudi money is raising all golfer income ships.

Who has the power to fire him? A Board of Directors? Who is on that?

But, to reiterate my point, you can’t freely let the LIV players back. It’s a slap to guys like Rory and Rahm and JT who turned down 100s of millions and stayed loyal
Let me tell you how that conversation will go:
"Rory, our ratings are south of CNN. We're going to start losing sponsors and our purses will be drastically affected. If we let DJ, Brooks and the gang back things go back looking rosy."
"Jay, I'll pick DJ and Paulina up at the airport."
