Haaland is pretty much the definition of a freak athlete. I don't care about trying to figure out if he could be good in the NFL though, that's such a stupid argument.

Haaland couldn’t sustain a week in Gronks shoes in the prime of his career because he would’ve already quit.

You missed the entire point of my post. He plays soccer because of where he was born. If he had played football during his youth, he would easily be 30 pounds heavier and not loose any speed. Gronk is never going to approach a 4.4 forty.

Guess we will never know because all the real “freak” athletes play other sports.

Haaland has never been hit. You miss my point.

How do you know tough a man is without having those details? He’s fast but is he tough? Can he play with tier one 4.3 black athletes. No. Other than kicking the ball he has done nothing to show he’s some freak athlete.

I love soccer by the way. It’s silly to think the can play nfl football outside kicker. They are where they are for a reason.

Ok.

Haaland is definitely an elite athlete. Guy is an absolute freak and one of the 5-10 best players in the most popular spot on earth.

The real question is how would Gronk do as a target man. Could we see him dropping 50 pounds, holding up play and bagging goals in League One or Scotland? Scenes mate

I'm not saying he could go on an NFL roster right now, just like no football player could jump into any professional team in Europe. IF Haaland had grown up here he would have been being hit since he was 12 playing football.

Ahhh Erling Haaland… One of the greatest strikers of all time already!

Holds English premier league record for most goals in a season (36 in 35 games). Also won treble that year! (UCL, EPL, FA Cup)

One of the soccer players who doesn’t mind a little contact!

These Internet dorks really need to stop confusing the Internet with the real world. This isn’t Xbox.

Ratings don’t make a football player in real life, there’s some important intangibles that go into it that can’t be surmised on a tv screen while playing a game

6’5” 200 pound Norwegian that can run about a 4.2/4.3

The reason guys like Gronk play in the NFL is because they are running a 4.5/4.6 at 260+ lbs.

Haaland's a beast but he's not going to run a 4.3 if he gains 60 lbs lmao

I'm sure he just can't wait to take a massive paycut just to play a sport he's completely unfamiliar with. I don't know who wouldn't take that deal.

He's one of the top soccer players on the globe, that alone means he's a freak athlete. Could he play football? Of course not. But if you were to take Jamarr Chase or Myles Garrett and place them on the Soccer field. They would like incredibly uncoordinated and out of place.

These guys are professionals at their respective sport for a reason.

What do you think he's going up against a bunch of 5'4" wimps?? Have you looked at the French National Team? They're nothing but tier one black dude studs & those are the guys Haaland torches weekly in the Premier League.

I've followed both sports for years & the scouting, development, and even the pay in soccer can be vastly superior to football. It's much more global + Eurosnobs buy a lot of tickets & jerseys

You are comparing a guy who is playing against tier 2 athletes from other counties some of which are third world.

Yes, like all the third world countries in Africa, with like a billion and a half people, which is about 30 times the number of the ~50 million or so Africans in America who dominate the NFL (and a good chunk of the best athletes out of those play basketball). Plus all the third world countries in South America, another 450 million people or so, and Europe, about 3 quarters of a billion. Central America, about 200 million. So that's about 3 billion people in countries where it's the number one sport. Before you even get to South Korea, Japan, the Middle East.

But sure, Haaland is a scrub and 'mericans would easily dominate soccer if we just tried hard.

Conversely I doubt Gronk would be effective running a soccer pitch for two halves for 45 minutes nonstop.

It’s almost like these professional athletes utilize specialized training for their particular sport.

The former fastest person on earth, Usain Bolt, grew up playing soccer. Yet he couldn’t land a contract with an Australian soccer club 2 years after winning 3 gold medals.

Lol OP should go watch those old Chad Ochocinco videos where he literally tried out for Sporting KC.

He was a top NFL athlete, played growing up (he was actually good enough to score in a lower professional league), AND MLS teams were way worse in 2011 than they are now, but he still couldn't hang
