I'd draft them but I'd always wonder about the willingness to compete when there is nothing to play for during a poor season.

And you would have missed out on arguably the best defensive player (Parsons) and offensive player (Chase) in the last draft.

In other words, you would be a terrible GM.

He’ll be fine for his pro day

You can get hurt in any game. If anything, he showed his true colors playing with his teammates tonight. Respect.

Hell Myles Brennan missed an entire season because he tripped on a fishing trip.

It could be karma with Ole Miss faking all those injuries this season.

And it will not affect his draft stock in any capacity whatsoever. Zero. Zilch.

He's been a first round pick all season. Why did he ever play a game?

He wasn’t first rounder all season. He needed to show he could play without throwing it to the other team so much. He had 29/14 last year. Brought that all the way down to 20/4. He greatly improved his draft stock by playing all year. Probably added some leadership points playing in this game, which is important for QBs. He never considered sitting. QBs don’t have the same risk as a lot of other players, so not as difficult of a decision, but players do like playing for Kiffin and playing for Ole Miss.

You'd be out of a job in 3 years w/that philosophy, especially considering that most guys who do opt out are top-50-top-100 picks. IOW, 1st and 2nd day guys.

I have no problem w/players who are projected top-50 picks sitting out(unless it's a playoff game) and saving their bodies for the NFL. Their bodies are their investment, their meal ticket.

You couldn't be my GM w/that view

It was rather ironic how the announcers kept talking about how Corral wasn't about to sit out the bowl game because he was just that tough. Oof.

So you would have passed on JaMarr Chase and Micah Parsons.

Not to mention Bosa who had 47 tackles, nine sacks, and an interception in his first NFL season. He’s got 43 tackles, 18 TFL and 15 sacks in his second full season.

GMs will draft talent.

Before Peyton Manning went back for his last season at Tennessee, his family took out a big insurance policy on him so he’d get paid something if he got injured badly. Are players like Corral doing that, too?

Yes. Most have policies if they have high draft predictions. If injury causes them to drop below projections they collect. Fournette had a $10 million policy, Watson had a policy, Clowney had a policy and plenty of others. The premiums run about $8-10k per million. Jaylon Smith from Notre Dame, an Oregon DB, Bibbs from Iowa State and Silas Redd from USC have collected. They even have those policies for NFL players. Warmack from Alabama/Titans was one of first to collect on that.
