This.

The 12 team playoff isn't any better. It's fricking stupid.

Argument goes for Boise st as well. They're already ranked 10th off the merit of their season, why risk playing another game and dropping?

Committee really screwed up having a release this week vs holding off on any new bracket till after all the CC games are played.

Saying teams who were not playing were set was insanely stupid. So that means South Carolina could have a win over ACC champ Clemson and it won’t mean a damn thing in the committee's eyes when comparing them to Bama.

I love being right.

For nearly two decades now, I've been promoting the Tier system in CFB based on media bias.

I was 100000000% correct in my theory 20 years ago and now this proves everything I have always said.

I told you all the playoff would have Tier 1 teams in with three losses. I was told repeatedly I was a pussy and had no clue.

LOLLOLOLOLOL

Enjoy the 5 Tier 1 Teams Plus 7 every year going forward!

Playoffs should to a bid system like uefa champions league used to use. With a coefficient determining how many bids each conference gets based on the last four years performance of the conferences in the playoffs and bowls. We'd have a more objective metric in that regard and an ability for other conferences to build up.

SMU is going to win the game this weekend.

Maybe not. Toughest team they played since BYU where they lost at home.

Elections over. They don’t have any reason to manufacture something like that again.

I’ve been screaming for over a year that conference championship games need to go away. Nothing to gain, too much to lose.

I don’t know if I want the byes determined by tiebreakers

Well by that same argument, if UGA wins this weekend, Bama would have a win over the SEC champion.

They shouldn’t have any releases during the season. Just one ranking to announce the bracket.

You’re acting like you predicted some grand idea that nobody saw coming.

5 out of the 12 teams being “tier 1” teams is not a surprise lol

Just expand field to 16 and get rid of the round 1 byes. Power 4 championship game = auto bid. Last 4 in should cover the edge cases and cinderella or few get in. The top 4 also get to host home games look on campus.

Conference champ games need to go away now, with the playoffs. Just expand the playofffs a final time and work the money so the conferences don’t miss their champ game too much.

Texas and Georgia may play each other 3 times… silly.

Yup. Nothing to gain. A spot in the playoffs to lose.

Teams wont be punished for CCG losses and they can gain a bye.

I just heard the interview w Selection Committee Chair X

He said teams w a bye are locked relative to each other NOT that they are locked in their current ranking. The lack of a new data point will just prevent a bye team from jumping another bye team this week.
